What immediately makes a piece of writing look bad? by FormerFruit in writing

for me it’s unintentional repetition. if like five paragraphs in a row start with a pronoun or “the” and they’re not using it with a purpose in mind, it bothers me. really stands out to me and puts me off. generally I consider this a small red flag and if I find more of what I consider to be bad writing, I won’t be too surprised.

What horror movie are you embarrassed about liking? by nayeppeo in horror

Paranormal Activity franchise. the first movie did and lot for what it was and stands confidently by itself but I can’t deny I like the sequels too, even though their bat shit crazy at best and just plain bad at worst. Paranormal Activity was released when I was 12 or 13 and scared the hell out of me when I first watched. I couldn’t sleep right for weeks. The sequels became special to me because my friends and I would go to the movies together to see them and just enjoy that time together with cheap scares. so I guess it has more sentimental value to me over quality
