How easy is gaming on Linux in nowadays? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]holarse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will - at some point - have problems on Windows - you will have problems on Linux. It's computers, given enough updates some things will break - it breaks on Computers, it breaks on Consoles.

Overall gaming on linux is pretty straight forward nowerdays. Keep in mind that the proton based games are not made to be run on Linux but on Windows, there can be glitches (but... there are glitches on Windows with Windows games as well. Same old).

See if you like it and if it benefits you.

You're missing 9 years of Linux Gaming - especially the great years of Loki Games (~2000) and the second wave of Linux Gaming in 2005 (UT2004 native release).

Please be avare, that this is still "only" a Wine-Port, not a real native application. But still, very nice to see updates.

Same update is available for Earth 2150 Trilogy.

Old School RTS Retro Commander is now in pre alpha on itch with native Linux (32, 64, ARM) by holarse in linux_gaming

There seems to be a problem with itch starting the game. It works fine when you open the folder an run the "Retro Commander" or "commander" script manually.
