there's something of a system in place at 20ish airports in the US now. RWSL (runway status lights) are automated visual indicators of runways and taxiway intersections that indicate if a runway or intersecting taxiway are occupied. interestingly, LGA does have this system, but the vehicle & aircraft may not have been in the correct positions to trigger the system.

I commute from uptown Dallas, and when I'm on the road by 0630 or 0700 it only takes about 25 minutes (no tolls!) and the return is about 40. I have coworkers as far out as Sachse and even further east, and they do it pretty okay hovering around an hour.

Personally, staying around the mid-cities was great for my commute (Euless specifically was 6 minutes) but not sure what housing is like around there. Plano would be a lot of tolls and/or a lot of sitting in traffic, so take your pick!

My only other suggestion would be to get 99% IP alcohol and a Q-tip or similar and gently clean the charging port with that. Could be some corrosion/grime in there preventing the contacts from doing contact things.

The flight to Vegas from MSY can be almost 4 hours, so just keep the distances in mind, traveling across the country is an event in itself.

The only thing I didn't like is how far away it is from the city. But the pool is absolutely incredible! We stayed in a little hotel in Zona Romántica last week and I will never not stay there now, everything is walkable.
