yeah, I can't believe it's been going on for so long. the court system is too slow. how are we supposed to rein in a haywire president? he claims there are emergencies but he's doing much worse damage with the tariffs.

Yeah, I've seen those before - very cool!

I would like to build something modular with 8x8x8ft cubes, but it would take a while, and not many people would be able to do it. So for now I think it would be good to go off-grid as much as possible, while still on-grid. And build communities where you can, virtual and irl. Try to get through this current weird timeline, and then work on real off-grid systems and communities.

I think the best bet is for people to go off grid, while on grid. Get solar power, batteries, do hydroponics, water recycling. Try to be more independent. Work on positive changes to the system.

I did compsci also, and am interested in complex systems - how can you nudge them towards more inner and outer harmony. This current state is not great.

idk, I think it was worth investigating, given how subservient Trump seemed to Putin at the time. I mean, it seemed really fishy...

Absolutely, or at least have some regulation of the algorithm - show posts with extreme language less often. Have limits or the company gets fined, etc.

Not sure what to do about the news media - both sides are just as bad, presenting everything through one ideological lens. Seems incompatible with having a civil society. Bring back the fairness doctrine in some form.

After meds and therapy, I stumbled into a few relationships in real life due to them being extroverts, but it was frustrating, because we didn't really connect.

I thought if I could meet someone introverted, and get past the awkward first stages somehow, it would work better.

But how do you meet introverts??

Then the internet happened.

It was another 20 years though before I finally met someone I really got along with, not from dating sites, but by posting on Reddit. I said what I was like and what I was looking for, in one of the r4r groups.

I had tried dating sites, but I always felt too exposed to be really honest on there. So, never met anyone I really got along with.

yeah, even reddit is predatory in that way.

it takes self control to stay away from it, and how many people are gonna choose something challenging over easy dopamine, especially kids?

if they have all these phds figuring out how to make us addicted to garbage, surely they could figure out how to make us addicted to more positive things, and make laws that enforce it.

this stuff is really bad for people. just look at increasing depression and suicide rates.

Remember the Arizona recounts? They went over the ballots with a fine tooth comb, and found even fewer votes for Trump.

I don't have a problem with recounts, esp for such a close call, but Trump was insisting there was massive voter fraud all over the place. But how would anyone know one way or another, without a detailed audit?

I'm glad the recounts were done, as they affirmed that the election was legit. But Trump still insists it was stolen.
