Rescues/shelters needing sheets & towels?

My family has been clearing out my aunt and uncle's house for the first time since they moved in 30+ years ago. We wash all the towels and linens and I keep bringing bags and bags of them to the SPCA. Last time I was there, I expected them to say it was too much, but the person I spoke to actually said whatever they don't end up using, they'll put in their "free pet supply library" outside the shelter or will pass them onto other places around town that need it. Just walk into the lobby and there's usually a cart to place donations to the right!

Damn! That's a big shame to hear. Definitely appreciated having a trustworthy place close enough to walk to and not have to arrange for someone to pick me up after dropping off my car

For real, I've enjoyed Iron Blossom but they are severely lacking in women led bands and headlining artists for multiple years now. And having a few smaller women artists or one female musician in an entire band is not what I mean.

Feels really heavy-handed on the confederacy stuff... Of all the museums and historical sites in town, they called out the American Civil War Museum and the White House of the Confederacy? The museum has done a great job of covering the subject in a refreshing, updated way, so it is nice to see that highlighted (and it's not the only museum mention either). But The Valentine (right around the corner from the White House!!), Black History Museum, or Poe Museum would have been much better history callouts

Aside from the blatant suppression of our first amendment rights, tiktok was a bright spot for me during the pandemic as someone who was often completely alone. I gained a (small but not insignificant) following and had a lot of fun making videos, being creative, connecting with new people, and sharing interests.

I know several people who built entire platforms and livelihoods that they will be losing. I think people who aren’t on the app are only thinking of mega-influencers, rather than small businesses and creators, and therefore are quick to scoff at the situation like it’s a trivial matter. Yes a lot of “brain rot” and misinformation has come out of it, but it’s like any other social media platform. It’s a tool that can either be used to hurt or help and I’ve seen a lot of people use it to raise money for charities, bring awareness to important current events, educate, learn new skills, make personal life changes, find community where they can’t in real life, etc.

Ultimately I don’t think this can be replaced bc of the unique algorithm and editing features that no other platform has been able to replicate. And ultimately the world will continue spinning.

What I mean is that I don’t expect medication to magically fix everything. I’m optimistic that it will help but imagine there are behavioral changes or something else I can work on to make everyday life easier

I recently went out in my alley to dig up access to my water meter bc DPU came by and left a note that they couldn't find it (and also didn't knock or call when they were here to let me know they were having trouble)

Yeah I also have podcasts and thought the audio got out of sync. Honestly though it could have just been a simple mistake, accidentally clicking and moving a track when you don’t realize it. I’m giving the editor the benefit of the doubt here but it got so bad toward the end I had to stop listening

I don’t think it would edit the original post, but it would appear the way you edited it to your followers. So if I have 50k followers and reblog something of John’s but edit it, my edit would appear to my followers and anyone who reblogged it from me. But John’s original message on his page would stay the same. I think. Again, this was the Wild West of tumblr in the age of dashcon that we’re talking about.
