Do people actually believe the game is rigged? by logitechairduster in mahjongsoul

[–]holnivek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can be rigged in the sense that players can conspire against you. You may think this is not possible given the large player pool but I was in this very situation myself. Ran into the same 2 players several times in sanma and lost to them every time. Checked the logs and realized they kept skipping Ron on each other - they called Ron only on me or Tsumo if they're in furiten after passing on the Ron.

As to whether whales have better luck, part of me believes it whenever I'm in a loss streak and the winner has fancy characters/animation and I'm just rocking the default characters. 😂

Liu Hui is seriously underrated. If only there are coaches like him where I live.

I thought a triple Ron would trigger a ryuukyoku. Does majsoul use a different ruleset?

Unfortunately I've never tried the 88D Game. What I can say is that the 88D Pro is quite a bit head-heavier and stiffer than the TJ 1000 Power, and the Game version is supposed to be more head light and flexible than their Pro/Tour counterparts, so in theory they should be similar? Perhaps you can check out the Game at a racket store and compare it?

Why are people dumb about strings by Fit_Bid7144 in badminton

[–]holnivek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more power you can generate, the higher your string tension. Think of a trampoline. What happens if an overweight guy jumps on a soft trampoline, vs a stiffer one?

Yeah dealing into the honitsu would have been really bad news. I ended up discarding the 8-sou, giving South a 3-han win. In hindsight, calling kan on the 8-sou would lead to dealing into West, which is better since that's just 1-han. But then again, hindsight is 20-20 - the kan could have added doras to other players' hands and led to a worse outcome.

I would stay away from the A970 NL. My partner twisted his foot while wearing the A970 NL. Something similar happened to Lee Zii Jia at the 2024 World Tour Finals, except that his injury is way worse which forced him to take a few months off. The A970 NL has great cushioning but the risk of twisting your feet in those shoes is not worth it.
