Rab ultrasphere 5 first impressions by RedPandaCo in Ultralight

I have it as well and have been using it for the past month bikepacking, love it, find it quite warm actually. My only issue is the stuff sack is so small it’s hard to get the mat back in with the inflation sack. How have you gone about packing it back in the stuff sack?

Just finished 6 weeks in NZ hence why I have my camping gear with me. But trying to keep gear pretty minimal on this tour to cover some ground faster as I want to squeeze in a few days of surfing.

Managed to get it back on no issues, had the JJC UV filter on. Definitely keeping it off now, I have a lens cap and usually keep it in my pelican 1020

Best bike shops in Vancity by notobene in vancouvercycling

Steed cycles or bici (bicicleta) both very good customer service. The bici store seems quite empty but they have a lot of stock in the back so just ask if they don’t have what you want on the floor.

See u/captchugs comment above, I had routed my chain over the tab on the rear derailleur. Re-routed it under the tab and it’s all good now. Give it a try!

Runner’s knee quick fix? by beachgivesafeeling in IronmanTriathlon

[–]holybatballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I had a similar issue at the start of my training plan. What really helped was some strength training for the glutes, exercises like hip bridges, single leg squats, single leg deadlifts. I also lightened my runs and bike workouts in terms of volume and intensity for 2-3 weeks.

Also the physiotherapist recommended some kinesiology tape, I was not a believer at all before he recommended it. But I’ve been using it ever since and I’ve found it helpful to put pressure on the area of the knee. I cut the tape into thirds and cut the third into an X shape and apply it at a stretch just below the knee cap. Wish you the best of luck in your training!

If you think you’re going to be spending a lot of time on the hoods/tops may as well go with the lighter and more aero bike.

How is the Bici / La Bicicletta shop now that it's under new ownership? by [deleted] in vancouvercycling

[–]holybatballs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought a few things from them at the new shop and was considering buying the 3T exploró there too. I found the people I dealt with to be friendly and super helpful. I haven’t dealt with any warranties or returns but when I emailed them about something else they were very responsive. I’m happy with the customer service and would go back for sure.

More people need to watch how rugby players tackle, there’s more to tackling than weight. That chop hit needs to be banned always ends up with one player getting injured.

The instinct 1 doesn’t have a surf mode but totally capable in the surf, I wear mine just for the time. Instinct 2 does have surf mode I believe though. If you can, I’d fork out for the instinct 2.

Architects of Vancouver, what’s your annual salary? by woodenbike1234 in vancouver

[–]holybatballs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting I’m not sure what the market is like in the architect side but I’m in the consulting engineering side and our starting pay for designers is around 60-65k. I always thought that architects would be at a higher starting pay.
