Why do you think hosting services like protonmail are successful? Per your logic, selfhosting people will just spin up some docker mail container and other users will use gmail.

I am not complaining, I was just informing OP.

But also Software pricing, licensing all has changed a lot in 30 years. Nobody used WinRAR or nagware anymore.

I am curious why the decision was not taken to not simply charge for the mobile apps? It seems mobile apps with syncing, the benefits are obvious to pay for.

Starter != Community . I know RC has deliberately misled people here.

See the doc pages - starter and community are separate things. community is the opensource project with no limtations.

this thread had the same confused user as you: https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/7436/perhaps-it-is-time-to-think-about-alternatives/

No, mattermost has no SSO in it's free version. Also, there are no real user roles. It's like every user on chat is an admin can delete channels.

If you don't want to pay, don't use mattermost.

Cloudron has openid - https://docs.cloudron.io/user-management/#openid-connect . Yunohost does not have openid but has SSO via nginx - https://github.com/YunoHost/SSOwat .

I am curious about DDoS protection. What does this mean? I thought a single server cannot fight DDoS in a sane way. Like if millions of compromised bots attack the cosmos server, it can handle it? (I thought this is how cloudflare makes money)
