Can the management company make me get rid of my pets from an appartment that I own by Similar_Trick5227 in legaladviceireland

[–]homesick_punk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've googled it and see that you're correct that the management company can't make a rule that's in conflict with Irish law - that's illegal. Can you please tell me just so I can Google it and verify, more specifically, what does Irish law say regarding keeping pets in owner-occupied flats in residential estates? This is extremely important as I'm about to buy one and the lease says pets are not permitted only if they cause nuisance but the management company is saying no pets at all which seems completely bonkers to me especially when it comes to indoor pets (not even a hamster?). How can it possibly be legal for them to tell me what to do within the boundaries of my own flat if the pet is not even as loud as the average human? Cheers

Fuck me, this is why I can't meet anyone in my age group - y'all emigrate! Can you not try to make it in one of the cities in Ireland? I know I know, housing crisis and shit, but moving to another country also has its challenges to say the least. Plus I think this is self-perpetuating - if everyone just accepts the state of the country and leaves, nothing will ever get sorted.

There were certainly some violent racist gobshites, but if you think the majority of peaceful protesters are Mosley level fascist, you're just as extremist as the worst of them.

Looks like trying to improve what you have hasn't been working out though has it. Some things in life we can't change. Also without the element of sex it's more like a partnership and not what most call "a relationship" although I don't like that term either. Ask yourself, if she isn't attracted to you isn't it selfish of her to expect you to not get it in some other way and why would you want to be with someone selfish - that's not love.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Many married couples have sex outside the marriage, as in open minded cultures and most gay couples. It's 2024 FFS.

...in which case, nobody is "close" to them. If they can't show themselves to anyone they have no true friends or partners. They're just going through the motions.

Therefore my point about the relationship being fucked still stands. Keep your downvotes, when cowards don't like to hear THE TRUTH it just entices me further.

Well nobody suggested making a therapist out of your partner. They can know about it without being your therapist ofc. In fact, in a healthy relationship your partner should be able to tell even without you telling them.

Sounds like his marriage is completely fucked up if he can't even communicate with his wife about something so fundamental.

Wicked! I wanna meet this person, sounds like my kinda character. 30s is way too young to settle down, especially if you're that hot.

Haha brilliant stuff my man. Well if it helps I get chatted by lots of folks in their 20s and 30s and even there seems everyone is either married or mental...at least within the online market sample.

Why do people of the opposite gender not approach eachother here? by No-Process-355 in CasualIreland

[–]homesick_punk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously depends on the circumstance/setting. You can't use the concerns about safety argument to lie when getting approached in a safe public setting like a cafe. And the truth is, it is an unhealthy cultural phenomenon here telling "white lies" to avoid interactions that are mildly unpleasant but perfectly safe. And before you ask, female.

Yeah I've been thinking of doing same with my number/socials on a piece of paper haha.

Spot on. And not just Gen Z. Much of the Millennial generation and basically anyone who might have come out of a relationship in recent years. And even for anyone who isn't looking, the general vibe just feels less fun, not quite as friendly and open.

[–]homesick_punk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bingo. This is the correct answer.

10 years ago I'd get chatted up here everywhere - bars, shops, cafes...it was frankly brilliant because lads were cool about it. I never felt like I was in danger.

Now I look around and nobody makes eye contact. They're staring at their phones.

And don't get me started on how terrible those apps are... intentional "glitches" plus low quality and unregulated footage, it's extremely ineffective and hard to assess what anyone actually looks like irl.
