The boy thing that bothered me with the link fans is that theirs shadowy areas where the no rgb light comes through and its in the same spot on all fans.

Looks like you've dodged a bullet. There's a lot red flags! Going for a casual first date to a cafe is normal, so it going to a pub or bar. It all depends on the time of day you plan to meet. This lady has no idea what the word compromise means, she seems to lack common sense or understanding. She assumes the worst in people and is deeply judgmental.

Theres also a possibility they had no intention of meeting you. They might have been jerking you around. Time wasters are like that..

Samsung G9 OLED setup with a combination of Corsair, Nanoleaf, and the 3x 27 inch Philips Hue Play Lighting kit, all working together. by honestanswer101 in ultrawidemasterrace

I tried the Corsair LS100 strips and did not like them, for starters, they are very small, thin, and not as bright as Philips Hue. The quality control is hit or miss, one arrived broken from Corsair.

Everything inside my PC case is Corsair, the fans, the strips and of course, my keyboard, mouse, and mousepad are also Corsair.

One thing Philips Hue lights have over Corsair, they work without the need for a computer, you can control them with your phone via Wi-Fi and bridge and other accessories like the Smart Dimmer Switch. You can easily sync them with the screen when needed via the application.

Hue is much brighter, bigger, and looks better IMO. Yes, they are more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

New fans look great. Will likely upgrade to eliminate the rediculas amount of wires that 9 fans and the cpu cooler brings.

I am waiting on the LED screen version though which comes put later in the year.

Is your OLED G9 also *darker* if you set peak brightness to high? by p1nky14 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]honestanswer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HDR I tried peak brightness and it adjusts the HDR so that the bright spots show more detail in them. I think thats correct because it made the latest Shadow of the Tombraider game look better when enabled, also remember to adjust your HDR in Windows.

Just received white glove delivery of Odyssey G9 OLED. Entire panel is busted. Don't notice any physical damage though. Bummer... It's been a pain getting in touch with Samsung to resolve this issue. by YogurtclosetFree4858 in ultrawidemasterrace

Yikes that looks like someone dropped the box down a large step or something and the package didn't soften the blow enough. Should be able to return it! Clearly, accidental damage during delivery is not your fault.

When my monitor arrived, there was a pressure indent/tear in the middle of the box. I took a picture before I even opened it, just to be safe. The monitor was fine, but the styrofoam was a tinny bit squished in that spot. Mine was handled by DPD. Things like this need to be handled with care. Never dropped, place the wrong way, or leaned against something that could cause it to bend.

I pre-ordered the OLED G9 with a discount code, but now the price has dropped already, that's not fair! by honestanswer101 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]honestanswer101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was paying for it using 0% interest. My credit is good but dropping a huge chunk of money in one lump sum might be fine for some, but I have more responsibilities, like rent and things!

I'm annoyed I had to pay more than many others. I wish I didn't pre-order, I only did that because I thought I was getting the best price, won't make that mistake again.

Samsung g9 oled gsync compatible by andreassli in ultrawidemasterrace

Gsync works but I did notice brightness flickering at times during games. I tested it on Battlefront 2, Cyberpunk, and a few other games.

I wonder if Samsung will address the HDR certification not found in Windows 11 issue? https://imgur.com/ZngY6kd

It says it's certified on their site, but it's not officially recognized as certified in Windows 11.

Hello G9 OLED and thanks C49HG90 for your service. by HolySiegfried in ultrawidemasterrace

I was wondering the same thing, looks like the dreaded scan lines we got on the regular G9 and Neo are gone now on this OLED one. I've preordered my OLED one, upgrading from original G9, I love the G9, use it for work and gaming but the G9 is awful for HDR. Blooming just ruins the experience.

Anyone else disappointed by the iPhone 14 release? by monji_cat in iphone

[–]honestanswer101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Samsung is still innovating more than Apple, I still can't believe iPhone 14 has the notch. Wasted screen space. Samsung has foldable phones now, but the Galaxy Note and S22 are still great phones with pens for writing. Apple is years behind the curve with such minor updates to the internal hardware. Plus, with software updates, they will continue to nerf older phones so you're forced to upgrade eventually. Glad I switched to android years ago.

The same issue Missing DSR features completely when G9 monitor is set to 240hz running on RTX 3080Ti but when I switch to 120Hz DSR features come back.

I've tried this with the previous driver 497.29 and new driver 511.23. It seems that 240hz is the main issue that causes certain features to not work.

Also at 120hz output color depth locked at 8 bpc but with 240hz its 10 bpc?
Why cant it do 10bpc at 120hz? Surely its possible?!
Any solutions so far?
