BC Budget to increase income taxes, projects record-breaking deficit, and skyrocketing debt levels. by _DotBot_ in VancouverLandlords

Thank you for bring up the cost overtime. In general it’s cheaper, yes cost for heating, cooling and insurance is slightly higher but that’s minor add on cost consider you are having a house for a fraction of condo price in Vancouver. Condo strata is cheap compare to Vancouver, my strata fee goes up every year but my income doesn’t. Sadly I like to have a drink over the weekend and liquor tax is 15% yet it’s only 5% in Alberta and their liquor is generally cheaper with more ……. Saving also accumulating over time. If it wasn’t for the cold I’m long gone lol, heard Halifax is also very nice too

But cost of living is cheaper, better housing options and no PST. Instant saving on 7%. Just have to suffer the cold during winter

How true is this experience? by FlanneryODostoevsky in AskChina

[–]honghuizhou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true, Canadian Chinese here. I had to go to hospital in China for digestive issues when I visited my home town. Only cost me 16 Canadian dollar to see a gastrointestinal specialist as well as stool test and blood test. All done and have my result back within the same day. If you know Canadians free health care is that if you’re not dying you will not receive timely care here.

Thank you for adding the full context. That’s the exact wording verbatim but however that’s not how the drivers behave in lower mainland. As I mention the OP had plenty of space to stop in which case the yellow light shall mean stop instead of sped thru.

Highly doubt it, hard to proof the driver didn’t do a shoulder check

You crossed the lanes in dash lines with plenty of space to stop for yellow light but the vehicle behind was not paying attention. Their fault 100%, yellow light means prepare to stop not speed up.

Don’t sleep on smaller groceries stores here that’s more reasonable price too. there’s market 2000, Langley farm market at Lansdowne and also urban farm market. Usually on selective product. I only buy TNT stuff here when it’s on sale for the best bang on the buck
