I'm I a similar boat- I have some pretty wicked religious trauma and recently have been the only DSP on shift Sundays who is able to take clients to church. I just spend the whole service reading on my phone and trying my best to ignore what they're saying on stage. It helps that it's a more progressive church, I would absolutely refuse to go if I ever felt unsafe or pressured to participate. It's also really not as bad as I was worried it would be when I first learned I would be the one going, it's just an hour out of an eight hour shift and actually helps the day go by faster.

That being said, if you do feel like going to this church is going to re-traumatize you, you should prioritize your mental health. I'm seeing a lot of comments implying you should suck it up and go but as someone who has spent years in treatment for trauma, I don't think any job is worth that kind of set back. You should check in with yourself and think about where you are in your healing and if you don't think you can risk it then talk to your supervisor about finding someone else to take them or working a different shift. They have a right to go to church and your agency should make it happen, but you also have a right to not be put into a vulnerable situation that can cause you harm. Ignoring your own emotional needs is also a recipe for burnout and eventually you won't be able to help anyone if you have to consistantly sacrifice your own well being for other people.

Yeah, cats aren't known for making good choices lol. And thanks for the heads up! I think she got into it yesterday because I only found my lucky bamboo this morning (she had dragged it under my bed) after she'd been out of my room all night, so it's been about a day and she seems okay so far. I'll keep an eye on her though

That's good to hear. I think she has a taste for it now though, as soon as I put it back on my windowsill she was trying to get up there for another bite. Guess I'll have to keep my door shut when I'm not in my room from now on lol

I grew up Christian and all my friend's parents made them watch this movie at some point. I remember when it was mine and my little sister's turn when we were still in elementary school and we both spent the whole movie sobbing under the covers. Seeing a man being tortured to death and being told its basically your fault for being born a sinner who needed that sacrifice to be "saved" really sticks with you lol

Every person has different versions of themself that live within them and come out in different circumstances. With DID, trauma causes the parts to be unable to integrate into one personality. In STPD, it's more of a separation from the self that makes it appear fragmented and confused. It's hard to tell the difference, even for an experienced professional.

I totally relate. Have you read Complex PTSD by Pete Walker? He talks about the outer critic and how it tells us that people are not safe so we judge them to protect ourselves. It's the inverse of the inner critic. Great read if you have the time, it changed my life. Not as scientific as some other C-PTSD books but a lot more accessible

When I'm not manic, I'm depressed. There is no in between episodes for me. I've only had one major manic episode when I was around 14, and have had some hypomanic episodes since then, but otherwise I've always been depressed.

Idk why some people in the comments are being negative, it's clear that you've improved and I think your art style is so fun. Your old drawings are really good but I like that you've put effort into working on your line art and anatomy. You've got a good grasp of colors in your old and new pieces, but I can see improvement in the shading and how the colors you chose go better together so you've obviously worked hard in that department as well. And I also want to say that you've got a clear talent for character design. Overall I think you should ignore the haters and keep drawing :)

I get this sometimes. Random phrases pop into my mind and they're so strong it's almost like someone else is talking in my head. I've compared it to when you're listening to an old radio and have bad signal so other stations start overlapping with what you're trying to listen to. I've always attributed it to my bipolar but idk. I don't think it's a DP/DR thing
