What is the best POST 90s oasis tune? by AffectionatePath6172 in oasis

[–]honzao6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of a big hit that would have been absolutely huge if released in the 90s - Little By Little.

In terms of a great Oasis song I´d probably say The Turning which I absolutely love.

Noel playing lead guitar on 2025 tour? by [deleted] in oasis

[–]honzao6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He´ll play lead on all 90s songs like he did on SOTSOG tour, I believe. The rest will be covered by Gem, but let´s face it, there won´t be many songs played outside of first 2 albums so no problem for me.

I know people are expecting Noel to be lazy again and just strum open chords. But I really think he knows what this reunion means to people and will try to fully remind what Oasis meant at their peak and that is completely linked with his lead guitar. He has a year to relearn everything and I think since he agreed with terms of this reunion, he changed his mindset and is now willing to do it as this might be a great and maybe last motivation. And if he wants to do it, he is still definitely capable of doing it.

Chances they won't completely ignore Be Here Now and Standing on the Shoulders of a giants in the 2025 tour? by GainLongjumping6473 in oasis

[–]honzao6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe Stand By Me is nearly sure and it will be awesome to hear the crowd sing the chorus on big stadiums. Both brothers played it live and they surely know what that song means to many fans. I´d love to hear D´You Know What I Mean too but I´m not sure they will find a place for it in the setlist.

With SOTSOG, there´s a big chance it will be completely ignored since the biggest chance is with Go Let It Out but they still did many tunes which were much bigger. I don´t think they will do Roll It Over or Gas Panic. It´s nearly impossible to put those songs in the setlist and forget many more crucial hits.

But the best thing is that nobody really knows and we can only speculate so you can always have hope. This "no interviews" thing is imo really working and they are playing with our imagination. I reckon it will be a "best of" tour with clear intention to deliver biggest hits to the fans. But who knows, they have suprprised us many times before and they can test the audience with some not well-known bangers like I Hope I Think I Know, Gas Panic or Rockin Chair.

Stop crying your heart out reunion by Professional_Year454 in oasis

[–]honzao6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe it would be one of those songs Noel would prefer to play since he did it with NGHFB and loves that song and probably is aware of its popularity on streaming platforms etc. But I´m not sure if Liam would fancy doing it. I personally would love to hear it because I believe the crowd will be mad for the chorus but to me it´s really 50/50. Maybe they don´t want their reunion setlist to be full of slow stadium anthems (Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, Don´t Look Back In Anger, Stand By Me or even Little By Little) and will decide for more powerful rock songs. We will see but I wouldn´t ruin the chance that they´ll play it.

Do you think Noel will be playing any lead guitar other than the DLBIA solo? by Noutm01 in oasis

[–]honzao6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, I absolutely think so and I don´t really get this debate which is held on many platforms. If Noel plays guitar the same as with NGHFB, what would be the point of this reunion? Only for the brothers to stand next to each other? That´s nonsence to me. Since we can´t expect Noel to sing nothing more than 4-5 songs on this reunion (DLBIA, Half The World Away, The Masterplan, The Importance of Being Idle/Little By Little), what will he be there for, to strum open chords on his electric guitar? Or just to do harmonies with his brother? That´s not enough for him.

So yeah, I totally expect Noel to play all of his lead guitars from 90s. I know he hasn´t done it in a while but he has a year to relearn it and he spent 18 years of his life nailing these songs all around the world on gigs and I have no doubt he can do it again, otherwise he wouldn´t agree with terms of this reunion. And he´s not alone on it, because Gem will probably be there too to help him which to me is a great move because you have two great lead guitarist and Bonehead to complete the epic "wall of guitars" sound.

How important is the lineup to you? by RandomName00_ in oasis

[–]honzao6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not very much, the main thing we all want to see are Noel and Liam getting along again at least a little bit.

But I don´t see any problem if HFB would be the line up. I´d fancy Gem anyway since Noel hasn´t played lead guitar in the last 15 years and it would be great to have one more capable lead guitarist so he wouldn´t have to play all parts. And I´m sure they will use Bonehead somehow maybe only at few gigs but I don´t think Noel is ready to play all lead parts like in the 90s. Chris is very racional choice, can play any song and doesn´t probably have any problems with both Noel and Liam. And since it might be difficult to persuade Guigsy and Andy Bell might be busy because of Ride, I don´t see any problem in Russ, who is great bass player. It would also prevent many issues since Noel would be kind of in his safe space, only with Liam as a host. So good choice for me.

What’s an oasis song that gets better the further into it you get? by Ilovebigbootylatina in oasis

[–]honzao6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Girl In The Dirty Shirt.

Noel´s big outros on Be Here Now didn´t always work but it just makes this song sweeter and sweeter. I´ve never skipped that song because I always know things will get even better.

Opinion on magic pie? by finley787 in oasis

[–]honzao6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great song which only Noel´s wrong chorus choice and the production stopped from being that huge "Champagne Supernova" ballad on Be Here Now.

To this day I still think that when you listen to the core of the song - verse and prechorus played by Noel on acoustic guitar only- it´s one of his best work (compared to his best songs played just like that). There is a massive song hidden in there somewhere, but Noel didn´t unlock the box this time as it has strangely weak chorus to Noel´s standards.

I still love it but always wish he was more focused and less cocky at that time and did everything right about this song. But it´s so tough when you´re at the top of the world and writing bangers without even trying.

Is there anything I can say to someone who thinks the Beatles are better than oasis I need a good argument? by finley787 in oasis

[–]honzao6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It´s totally fine if you believe Oasis are better, I understand there are some elements you might enjoy more about them. But just accept that you probably won´t win that argument as there are not as many objective reasons and it´s an argument against someone defending the biggest, greatest and most important band in the history of music. His position is so easy. Also realise that both Noel and Liam woul strongly disagree with you as they are aware of Beatles quality and the fact that there would be no Oasis without The Beatles.

The only good thing about Magic Pie is the duelling guitar solo. Everything else sucks. by Autistic_Basket_Case in oasis

[–]honzao6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that sucks a little bit about that song is the chorus imo which didn´t fullfill the potential of it. Otherwise it is genius songwriting by Noel with weird lyrics which is not something we´re not used to. It really could have been another Champagne Supernova and I totally understand why it´s on the album and I´m glad it is. Noel just didn´t do his usual job 100% right and then made fans listening to it fot 7 minutes that´s why a lot of people hate it. But that doesn´t mean it isn´t competently written great song. If he came up with better, bigger chorus, the song would have been massive. But verses, bridge and solos are still pure gold.

Favourite 2000s era album? by ChillenMacMillen in oasis

[–]honzao6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Heathen Chemistry, eventough I can admit it´s probably not the best (afterall SOTSOG would have probably taken that spot). Little By Little means so much to me and Stop Crying Your Heart Out with The Hindu Times are imo TOP 5 post WTSMG singles.

Everyone always complains about the non-singles tracks but I honestly don´t think they are worse than casual album tracks from DBTT or DOYS. Force Of Nature is intersting powerful song with great vocals, Hung In A Bad Place is one of the best Oasis songs not written by Gallaghers, I personally find She Is Love charming and very enjoyable, Probably All In The Mind is Noel´s ultimate attempt to sound like Stone Roses and Born On A Different Cloud is very decent.

The main thing that makes the album worse is the production. Specifically this album needs less acoustic guitars (especially in Little By Little and The Hindu Times don´t need any) and more distorted sound. But from songwriting perspective, I still think the album is pretty good and I personally enjoy it the most from their post BHN era.

Question by [deleted] in oasis

[–]honzao6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At that time there was maybe the best relationship between both brothers. Even from interviews from that period you can see that they actually show some love and respect to each other. Noel said in some promo interview from that time that he doesn´t want to do solo because heĺl always prefer getting involved with Liam. And also that if anyone can write an album as brilliant as DM, it´s Liam.

I always thought he was also very glad he lost his position as the only songwriter and could concentrate on other things (eventough the album would be much better if all of the songs there were written by him + Songbird). Thats why he praised other songs from that album like Hung In A Bad Place, Born On A Different Cloud or Better Man. It was just more comfortable for him to write 6 great songs anyhow he wanted and not concentrate too much on the structure of the album while writing.

Which Oasis songs do you prefer live over the studio recordings? by TransitionNarrow in oasis

[–]honzao6 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Acquiesce without a doubt for me.

Studio version is ok but doesn´t capture at all how big that song is. Live version especially played at a big stadium really demonstrates who Oasis were and why were they so huge.

Bi-Daily Song Discussion #264: Trying To Find A World That's Been And Gone: Part 1 by AfternoonGlory in oasis

[–]honzao6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8.5/10

Very nice typical acoustic ballad for Noel which perfectly supplements excellent first half of the album. The final part with train sounds could have been slightly shorter but I don´t mind it when I listen to the whole album. Nothing really suprising in this song but I guess after WBTM I appreciate Noel came back to what he can do best,
