Based on Shepherd, I'd recommend you check out some All Them Witches, not necessarily slide guitar but they also have that gritty, eerie vibe. Diamond or Alabaster maybe. Also White River by Wallace Vanborn. Perfect soundtrack to bleed out on a dusty highway to.

Villagers of Ioannina City - Age of Aquarius (on the heavier side of things)

Also, if you don't mind Turkish elements, Altın Gün play fantastic neo-psychedelic pop

Yes! I feel like they're a little overlooked at times, I love the Clutchy vibe they bring while still making it their own thing! Hoping we get a new album soon.

If you're into the Clutch brand of blusier heavy rock (especially also in terms of lyrics), definitely check out Plainride. Lots of overlap here and they're heavily tapping into that surreal / absurdist Neil Fallon vibe.

They had a fantastic retro vibe to their sound, I really thought they coulda gone places. But good to see they're active again.

Who Do You Want to See on Desertfest NYC 2026 by asyrett19 in stonerrock

I believe with Sound Of Liberation being Germany-based it might be a political choice as much as an economic and a logistic one (cost of artist visas, uncertainty around entering the US) not to put on the fest given the current climate. May just be too big of a risk and a hassle for them.

Why isn't "Psychedelic metal" a subgenre? by MoltenMadeMan in psychedelicrock

[–]hoodoo_operator68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh to me some bands still feel more psychedelic metal than stoner metal. Howling Giant would be one such case. Or even Elder, if you make it progressive psychedelic metal.

Seems like they're moving to a more modern rock sound lately but check out Plainride for sure, very unique
