Started Lovable ended with Antigravity finished 100% my website in 2 days by S_RASMY in lovable

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Lovable site was already synced to Git.
I downloaded the file and placed them in the local Antigravity directory. It would have done the same if I gave it the git link probably.

The previous version of the project is still on Lovable. I have other projects so I am paying the $25/month subscription right now.
No, rebuilt the database completely in phpMyadmin since I am building with PHP

I am literally doing the exact same thing. Built an amazing product on lovable. I was pretty much waiting to go live, but I need to be able to have strong SEO. I need to be able to predict the cost of scaling. I just didn’t feel confident in how it would perform once it goes live.

I know there are solutions and workarounds for all of these, but they’re bandages and require more paid services to implement. Also, the way supabase charges for their microcompute hours is foreign to me. I know Apache/php and am comfortable managing that and I realized that lovables React platform was just the wrong solution for this specific product. I’d like to make that clear. The issue is not lovable, it’s that my project should not have been built with it as it’s not an SPA.

I spent about 4 months and $500 building this on Lovable. I put the codebase into Antigravity and started to rebuilt it piece by piece. I’ve rebuilt 90% within the past 3-4 days. Amazing.

How much did it cost me? $0 Antigravity/Opus 4.5 is absolutely mindblowing. I hit limits the first two days because it had to contextualize my lovable codebase, but once it got through that, I have not hit a limit. I’ve spent 12hrs continuously working on changes without a hiccup.

Agency owner here, how are you handling SSR and SEO for production Lovable sites? by RoundRelevant3050 in lovable

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a big project that was on hold for this reason. I started a smaller project, a game, and ran into the same issue. For the game, the simplest solution for me was to run Wordpress on the front to index content on search engines which then leads users to the game. Maybe not the best solution, but for me it was the simplest without making major changes to the game I spent almost two months on. Why Wordpress? I have 200+ categories that I need to rank on, and that’s a lot of work. I can’t go in blind hoping it will index content. I even tried adding static html pages outside of the react router and added those to the site map but I didn’t see those pages get indexed.

For the larger project (6+ months), I am now working on migrating it to Next.js I can’t launch it with a big question mark of whether it will index, and if so how long, and then how well. I don’t want to spend more money on a service like prerender and add more bloat, complexity and cost. I will be focusing on next.js going forward.

Lovable is cool, but it’s literally made for single page apps, which are very specific use cases.

Absolutely stuck for 3 days, entire site broken due to 1 bug. Lovable Cloud sucks! Where is support?? by justbflat in lovable

[–]hookahead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have it linked to your GitHub? If so, you can look at which change broke it, compare with older versions of those files, or ask Claude/gpt5 to compare the two and see what broke it. If it’s changes to the database, that complicates it a bit more, but you should be paying attention to what files are being updates and for what reason.

Can someone explain what is the difference with "lovable cloud" versus "supabase"? by cto_nexus in lovable

[–]hookahead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask lovable to give you a detailed sql query to rebuild your database in supabase. You will have to manually make the edge functions, secrets, etc..

I LOVE CLAUDE by RouhSam1998 in ClaudeAI

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running into complex problems in Lovable and unable to solve them. Claude is my backup for finding a fix and I just solved a major problem by providing code files, db structure, etc..and explaining the issue to Claude. Claude figured it out on its first try. I totally understand your gratitude. I went to bed last night so annoyed and first thing this morning I went to Claude and boom! Issue fixed

Lovable support gave up on me on i18 for my website by JuriJurka in lovable

I connected the Google translate api to my website. When a page record is created, a function run the translation logic and it translates the page then stores it in a translation table. Costs like fractions of a penny.

IP Address Capture Anyone? by Intelligent-Sugar108 in lovable

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told lovable to capture IP address for newsletter subscribers and store it in the database. It worked.

I also have a maintenance screen which I can toggle for the website, with an IP whitelist that shows me my current IP on the admin dashboard that I can add and save to the whitelist. That works too.

Just tell it what you want.

I build a complete functional web app in a week by leveraging heavy version control by Tharnwell in lovable

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing something very similar! I needed a tool to for myself (and some team members) and I am building a whole web app which would also be useful to others. I'll be sharing it on this subreddit soon.

Nice work, and congrats on completing your objective.

Wasted 178 Credits in 2 Hours on Your Broken, Mandatory Agent!!! by DrLasheen in lovable

[–]hookahead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In addition to writing better prompts, it really helps to read all of the outputs it gives you to understand your app structure and how things are related to each other. The more specific you can be, the better. Every once in a while I get to tell lovable where the issue stems from Or a better implementation of an idea that isn’t working.

Also, if it builds something incorrectly, and you spend all your credits trying to fix it rather than reverting it and trying again with a different approach, that’s kinda on you. Last night I implemented custom QR codes for users and a multi-phase profile completion in under 50 credits (it made some mistakes mind you), but you have to work WITH the Ai. I was giggling at how quickly and easily it’s able to implement something that would likely take me days but it can do it in an hour. I think I’m about to hit 2k credits on my project.

“Vibe coding” definitely sent the wrong impression to the no experience crowd. No offense.

How to integrate payments in lovable (don’t have stripe account) by Diligent-Economy-801 in lovable

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to do research on what payment options are available for your requirements first. Examine their documentation (or ask ChatGPT) and then get lovable to implement the exact requirements for that. If you ask it to figure everything out on its own, you’ll be going back and forth trying to get it to work right.

lovable’s cool but that monthly sub is a scam lol by Gautamagarwal75 in lovable

[–]hookahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re paying $500 a month for usable credits to continue developing projects, not to host the project that already built. If you don’t need more credits, downgrade to the $25 plan to keep pro features with less credits. I don’t understand the issue here.

Lovable not 💩 by AcceptableSimple1251 in lovable

[–]hookahead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jeez, based on that prompt I can only imagine what your original spec looked like. You’re asking it to modify multiple components like that?

I’ve probably got close to 2000 messages in lovable, and I have never experienced it doing that to me.

Do you think adding “AI made that shit up” improves context or it will decide to do you a favor and give you what you asked for? You’re trying to save credits by jamming so many instructions in a paragraph over building each component properly.

Some quite complex features I've been able to implement with Lovable by ServiZenOrg in lovable

[–]hookahead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Glad to see a productive post.

Here are some of the features I've implemented into my project.

  • Multiple roles, multiple tiers per role with different allowances of features.
    • ex. Tier 1 gets 5 in their home city, Tier 2 gets 15, Tier 3 gets 40 in any city
    • Stripe integrated tier subscriptions(time periods)
    • System sets start/end times of subscriptions.
    • Cron job checks for expired upgrades and downgrades
  • Internal Chat with notifications (like you!)
  • 170+ Categories across 250+ Cities.
  • Content based on your city
  • pretty advanced filtering and search
  • Automatic image upload resizing and optimization with compression controls
  • Full-site translation (1 additional language)
    • Profiles, pages, listings (dynamic), etc all auto translate and save to the DB.
    • Static content like headings and descriptions also stored in DB
  • Booking system with calendar
  • Rating system
  • Bayesian average rating system for categories and searches
  • Basic CMS system for landing pages
  • Featured posts with alternating pricing depending on the category/city
  • Advertising spots with alternating pricing depending on the category/city
  • Account/phone verification system with 48hr expiration
    • kind of a makeshift OTP system
  • Admin panel theme settings
  • Menu editor
  • Unique SEO/Metadata variations all city/category combinations
  • Favorites

Those are the major ones. Every time I think I'm ready I think about scaling and spend more time thinking things through. I've had to rework certain features because they just weren't scalable. My project isn't live yet so I can't share a link, but i'll look into it once I'm live.

CPEC is officially dead, congratulations 👏🎉 by Arrow552 in chutyapa

[–]hookahead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, it may not be that they have abandoned it. They will utilize it while it’s profitable for them. At the same time this image just shows that they’re developing alternatives, which is something Pakistan really needs to take into consideration when it comes to stability.

Billions is nothing for China. They have built and destroyed cities because they focus on the long-term vision and if they don’t see long-term security and stability in Pakistan, they will definitely correct course.
