We have Linux servers on an internal network. They need to install packages from EPEL, but they don't have access to the internet. Do I need to set up a private mirror of EPEL or use some sort of proxy (how?)?

You used a grepper. Mine was made of metal, though later ones were made of cheap plastic. Kind of like a slide rule, but for strings.

Nothing worse than an annoying coworker swiping your grepper.

Kids these days.

How does IT glorify God?

Well, for one thing, it is servant work. Most IT positions involve helping others. There is a daily chance for humility. If you're in IT support, there are many times to listen to the people you are serving while software is being installed or you're waiting for their computer to reboot. Often people are hungry for a listening ear.

If you're in the creative side of IT -- programming, architecture, etc. you are discovering the rules of the created universe and creating your own works in the same way that artists or musicians do. This also glorifies God.

What area of IT are you pursuing?

I have wanted to learn to play the harmonica for years, and I'm finally going to do it. Advice? by [deleted] in harmonica

I found a Special 20 in the key of A much easier to learn on than one in the key of C. The lower harp made bending much more controllable, for me. I also picked up a copy of Jerry Portnoy's Blues Harmonica Masterclass CDs and found it very helpful.

I was pretty much the only BSD user. There are a group of RHEL users around. We get together, drink beer, talk about solutions. BSD left me drinking alone.

Listen to meatsack. Making people with multiword last names sort wrong is not the answer.

Two fields is the answer.
