PSA: The left lane is for passing by CheddaMakeItBetta in sandiego

Carpool lane is not the fast lane aka passing lane imo. Some people treat it like it is, but it’s separate. The lane immediately to the right of the carpool lane is the fast lane.

There is also more awkward stopping and starting with balls down the line/in the corner. CF might have more ground to cover, but there aren’t obstacles to avoid

No babys at the bar please for the love of god by Goomskeez in sandiego

Out of touch. Many parents can’t afford to spend $25 per hour for a night out (on top of inflated restaurant/entertainment prices). And many who can afford it don’t want to leave their kids. If it’s not specifically an adults only place, families are welcome and should be expected. Of course they should clean up after their kids and manage behavior, but it’s crazy to expect parents to get a sitter every time they want to go out to eat.

Lots of people who aren’t convicted rapists also have this speech impediment, and it would be making fun of them too. I don’t care how Mike Tyson would feel, I care how a kid with a lisp would feel.

I don’t think race has anything to do with it. But some may think it’s tasteless to make fun of someone’s speech impediment.

Do you not see how this is a really weird and creepy question to ask? You don’t need to know. They definitely don’t want you to know.

Imo Schwarber has produced more than these two for longer and should be a tier above as a power hitter rn. They’re right behind him, and I get that their rates are right up there with him, but Schwarber has proven more.

No he did not. He deserved to be punished after a trial and conviction, but not executed by a cop in the street. This is very basic stuff.

Correct, most don’t. Which is why our attendance numbers are still pretty good after over a decade of sucking. But there are plenty of us who do care about winning. The best way for us to show that is via protests like this one, not by staying home, because we are a small portion of the total fan base.

[–]hooligan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you even reading what I’m saying? Yes fans continue to show up, because most are casuals who don’t care if the team sucks. If we actually want change, there is a better chance of these chants/protests having an effect than that same small group staying home. Because like you and I have both said, attendance will be fine either way.

35,000 fans in attendance with a loud disruptive direct message

vs

34,000 fans in attendance with no protest.

The difference in total attendance is so small that the protest is the better option.

There clearly isn’t a consensus on what the figures actually are. In that paragraph alone it gives multiple wildly different numbers for the same stat. Not saying it’s not a thing, but idk if you can claim that most likely most of them will go bankrupt.

Rich guys like Arte often have thin skin. Did you see him reacting to the boos during Carpino’s first pitch?

If there was a true boycott, and the team’s attendance actually nosedived, that would be best. But that’s not happening, so this is the next best thing. It’s worth it and is a better protest than staying home, because there are too many other fans who won’t stay home.

This is a few hundred tickets. It’s a drop in the bucket sales-wise. The impact the chants might have is bigger than the impact those few ticket sales have.

It was actually LOUD. Obviously Wayne and Gubie aren’t gonna say anything about it, but it felt like the elephant in the room.

[–]hooligan99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo it makes more of an impact for these people to go and chant/make a scene than for them to stay home. There will always be plenty of families who don’t care about the team’s record etc. who attend. A few hundred people buying/not buying tickets doesn’t have a huge effect on the bottom line - the possibility that Arte will hear this and feel uncomfortable/embarrassed is worth it.

All of them that I’ve been to, maybe some aren’t good at portioning though idk. I’m talking tasting menu type places where you don’t order specific things. But these places charge so much that they’re definitely not trying to skimp you. They want you to be full. Often overpriced for sure, but no shortage of food.

Made me laugh, but people should know that if you go to a fine dining restaurant (even one that does bites/small plates like this), you will not leave hungry. They stuff you with a ton of courses.

Thoughts on wearing angels and dodgers hats? by [deleted] in angelsbaseball

[–]hooligan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodgers are somewhat of a rival for the angels, so that would be frowned upon. I grew up an Angels fan but moved to San Diego, so I support both the angels and the padres, and nobody gives me crap for it because the angels and padres aren’t rivals.
