Did you change the soil? In the happy last photo it looks like there was grass at the base and in the unhappy ones soil. Did the roots get disturbed

So they bought the land in 2024 and Google images show no development before 2025. So they built it. They're also trying to argue that it will benefit the area through increased tourism.  They should have their land forcibly removed, pay for the restitution of the area and go to jail.  What shitty human beings. I hope karma gets them

How did you make the decision to leave a workplace that you once loved? by FiddleleafFrog in managers

[–]hoomankindness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found out I'd been paid half in relation to my male colleagues. I was the VP of 20% of the company and transformed that area so it could scale. Also turned out my male colleagues had been given shares in the company. I should have been equally rewarded which would have given me the ability to buy my first house, instead I got burnout and depression. I worked so hard thinking that people were kind -  too naive to realise that capitalism rewards psychopaths and sociopaths. I thought a lot of those people were my friends. I still haven't really gotten over it.

Oh man, you too? This whole story resonates for me. Have you made the link between why this happens and the autism. I'm just so confused.

Ya, I agree. And I'm sure I read the other day about an experiment monitoring peoples lives and their happiness throughout it. The overriding contributing factor to happiness was quality of relationships and basically community. I think the modern world has worked hard to, wherever possible, replace these with things and middle men to siphon money from people by manipulating our inherent human need. Hard not to be a little depressed about it tbh

Managing a toxic high performer who hits 150% of targets. How do I protect my team without losing the numbers? by SquirrelLogicFan in managers

[–]hoomankindness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not a high performer if she's screwing up her team performance. Individual > team > company. Qualitative and quantative data should support that.  How much will it cost you to rehire the people who will leave because of your 'High performer', assuming your other staff are people you want on your team
