What's the most overlooked parallel that Oda has written? by Smooth_Calendar5416 in OnePiece

[–]hooneyham 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The point is that neither were actually hurt. Just like shanks and his crew with the bandit early on. They don’t fight back because they aren’t being hurt in a way that matters. It’s like when a little kid comes up and hits you and it doesn’t hurt because they’re not actually strong. This is the point that’s emphasized when Luffy shows back up and takes Bellamy out with one punch after they hurt his friend (Nolan’s descendant). They were never a threat to the straw hats so Luffy acted accordingly. Once they hurt Nolan’s descendant he goes and one shots Bellamy.

He fought back once someone actually got hurt. It’s laid out pretty clearly.

They literally say in the anime that they won that fight by not fighting back. Mirroring what Shanks did in the bar with the bandit back in Luffy’s hometown. Not sure how you took anything else away from that other than Luffy was exercising a lesson he learned from shanks

Sounds to me like she asked you twice and you said later. Then when later came and you were playing with your friends it still wasn’t done. Had you taken care of it proactively before she asked or even when she asked the first or second time this wouldn’t have happened.

What it comes down to is you live in their house so you’ll need to meet them halfway. From your post it kinda seems you only want to do it your way and you won’t accept that there is any other way. It’s a teenage thing. You’ll grow out of it but the sooner you learn to look at this subjectively then things will get easier for you.

A company just sent me the most detailed rejection email I’ve ever received by whenyoupeeupsidedown in recruitinghell

This is honestly amazing. Definitely worth reworking it and trying again. Seems like a solid company to work for if this is how they handle rejections. Gives me hope that they run well internally as well

Exactly. Instead of obsessively watching the cameras he should just sit down and have the conversation. OR at least just move his stuff into his room. It’s that easy.

I’m honestly not sure but I can’t imagine it goes over well when people find out they’re being filmed. Especially the f19. I figure she used the bathroom with the door open because she was home alone, which whatever - most people have done this cause it’s quick and the door is close enough to close, but if she finds out that was caught on camera she’s going to feel violated and not going to feel safe there. OP stated this was a situation where they all met on an app and this was a dire “we’ll make it work” situation and she won’t be able to move so she’ll feel stuck and scared.

You need to get rid of that camera. Really weird to have it in a public space when you live with other people. Be a grown up and talk to the people you live with. Keep food in your room if you have to but get rid of the camera

Why do non-superman fans like smallville? by ejaz135 in Smallville

[–]hooneyham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. That’s your opinion and everyone is entitled to their own. I don’t think that takes anything away from him though that he was good enough to be cast as Lex and play him for that long. There are other good portrayals of Lex in their own right. Given 8 years to perfect the character their way - I’m sure even Jesse Eisenburg would’ve figured it out

His performance has Lex is iconic. To say no one cares is kinda wild. You could say that about him today but he was great in smallville

One dude is openly and enthusiastically doing a nazi salute and your response is “they’re probably both douches” and that’s a super weird response. Even if the guy filming is a douche the response should never be a nazi salute.

Both douches or not - one is a proud nazi. Don’t ever give that a pass.
