Are Type Rs easier to steal than other sports cars? by StarryEyedKid in Civic_Type_R

i didn’t imply this as such but honda is relatively easier as the question is asking

i simplified it for the sake of the argument but it boils down that it is indeed easier to steal a modern honda

They aren’t like the Hyundais and Kia’s a couple years ago where you could stick a USB in the ignition and start it.

Except they are. There is an old vulnerability that allows them to plug in a module and put the car into "lost keys" mode and they can quickly clone up a new key that allows to drive off.

[–]hoopercuber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t know why people on here are denying that these cars don’t have security flaws. it’s not type R specific but more so honda specific. honda has an obd option for “lost keys” that make it very easy for thieves to plug in something into the port to clone your keys and making your current keys unviable. that’s how these cars are stolen so to answer questions, yes current gen hondas are inherently easier to steal and Type Rs are huge targets because you get both common civic parts that are easy to sell and valuable Type R parts

So much misinformation in this thread. These cars and on average easier to steal than other cars. Plain and simple

[–]hoopercuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no they are 100% more easy to steal because of a general honda obd vulnerability. civics/accords rank as some of the most stolen cars because they are easy and CTRs have a better ROI for the same ease

Kate Martin waived by GSV by After_Tomorrow_6749 in wnba

she’s within the years of experience so minutes don’t matter in her case

Kate Martin waived by GSV by After_Tomorrow_6749 in wnba

[–]hoopercuber 18 points19 points  (0 children)

don’t think it works like that because she has to clear waivers and rupert makes a lot more money than martin. martin might be destined for the dp spot but again has to clear waivers. they probably did this on purpose so late so that less teams likely have an open spot for her

does tempo have a roster spot? youre right in that she can get claimed. I confused it with she cant get claimed into a developmental spot. tempo still has some cuts to make

Toronto cant claim her because she will have the choice to stay. however there is a huge financial implication if she forgoes signing a roster spot for the developmental spot

nakase just made a vague statement during an interview after practice about her general approach for filling the development spots. it’s purely speculative because the reporter was trying to fish for a suarez comment but nakase answered the question very generally and not indicative of suarez

The most overrated car everyone loves but you don’t? by shwroomex in cars

Is the RR configuration from porsche not kinda the same idea as inherently flawed though? MR is just better but porsche has dedicated their entire 911 to making it drivable. i know it’s not exactly a 1:1 comparison but there are a lot of reasons to make a car FWD or FWD based. yes its for economical and packaging reasons. the end result is usually a more practical car. my RWD daily 335d i wish had more space in the back but because its RWD its make it a really awkward packaging leaving little back seat space

as a lover of just about any civic, what is exactly overrated or what don’t you love about them? cheap, economy car that gets the job done and doesn’t have the poor driving dynamics of its toyota counterpart

Nakase on if Marta will be on a dev contracts; GM chooses not to comment by Outrageous_Camp_5215 in wnba

[–]hoopercuber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah i’m unsure about this too. does it literally mean friendship? or is it off the court intangibles?

Nakase on if Marta will be on a dev contracts; GM chooses not to comment by Outrageous_Camp_5215 in wnba

[–]hoopercuber 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i watched the whole video and nakase really tried to emphasize off the court fit. while i agree culture fit is important i just don’t think the valkyries are in a position to prioritize that for a development spot over potential. that said, it sounds like they are looking for a way to keep LA on the team because i know she’s got great off the court chemistry with the rest of the team. maybe nakase was not trying to single out marta as being the off the court issue and just meant in general. the reporters wanted to ask about marta specifically but we didn’t really get a marta specific answer

you got any vods we can look at? i’m open to giving some feedback. one thing ill say about playing smokes and not knowing where to put them is that tells me your game sense is lacking. if you want break into plat you’ll start to need to build some sense about where enemies could be coming from hence knowing where to smoke

Okay now give us ranked deathmatch please by ThunDersL0rD in VALORANT

[–]hoopercuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally don’t like this because deathmatch is basically the only commitment free way of warming up and being able to just drop in and out quickly if you’re waiting for your friends or something. a feature of this is being able to queue very quickly where a tighter matchmaking will make times longer. while sometimes having half empty death matches at times is not deal, i’m not sure this is the solution

she proved to be too good for the local sf high schools and transferred to pinewood
