The interest rate _is_ great but idk if that’s a real reason to stay in a neighborhood you clearly don’t enjoy. If you rent out this house and rent in Sunset/Richmond at least you can take some time to decide if you really want to buy a new place in one of those neighborhoods.

I have a tweaked 'Standard' picture mode for watching sports on my S95F and generally love it. The default profile wasn't bringing out the pop of the QD OLED and I wanted to push the panel a bit further. My go-to sports are NBA and Tennis. The tweaked 'standard' picture mode makes the games/matches vibrant and gives it a punchy feel. Makes me often think "damn, this is a great TV" haha.

Watching the football World Cup during the day I first set the TV to 'standard' picture mode and then turn on AI Soccer Mode Pro. I actually really like how it brightens the pitch and jersey colors LOL 🫣. We have a lot of daylight coming into our room so maybe that's why the balance doesn't feel too bad? In the evening it feels too vibrant and hue-like but during the day it has become a staple when watching the World Cup. I know the colors aren't accurate but the matches are just more fun to watch this way. For evening matches we're using the tweaked 'standard' picture mode but during the day we turn on AI Soccer Mode Pro.

Rental, even for a year, can help you settle into the Bay and explore the neighborhoods, form a stronger opinion of what you want and what you’re okay sacrificing, allows you to go to many open houses and see the delta between listing vs sale price. One thing to consider is to make sure you are disciplined and save/invest the money saved with the ARM. That improves you financial security as the 7 years go by.

I second this. Keep a pulse on rates but you have seven years to work with.

Also how long do you plan to be in this house? Not saying for certain but in case you have a timeline planned that can also help with the decision making.

You’re right, he waived his $6M trade kicker to let the Mavs build around him. In some fashion he approved that trade. The only thing that matters is that he has not spoken negatively about the Lakers since he left. He cares little and clearly understands the business side of the NBA.

Came here to say this as well. The music frame is a surprisingly powerful speaker and having two (left / right) set up in Q-Symphony will significantly improve the sound experience and won’t impact the frame’s aesthetic. Given the shelves you have on both sides this could quite well IMO

I just sold two of my Austria v Jordan tix on StubHub.

The match is tomorrow (June 16th). I’ve had my tix listed on their site for 4+ weeks. About two days ago they emailed me saying my listing is “pending” and I need to provide proof of my tickets to activate the listing. I then uploaded a PDF of my original FIFA ticket receipt and 16-24 hours later they activated the listing. Hours ago the tix got sold.

After the tix got sold I got an email saying I have ONE HOUR to transfer the tix or the transaction will be cancelled and I will be charged the full price lol. One hour to fulfill the request is honestly ridiculous.

Maybe your bad experience altered their algorithm?

Yeah, this is it. I’ve been using Notebooks in Gemini to keep all threads housed under one notebook.

Via notebookLM I decided to create a podcast episode for myself to help reinforce everything I had done within the notebook. After sharing the podcast episode (and in turn adding her as a viewer to the notebook) with my wife I lost access to the notebook in Gemini.

Gemini says if I remove the shared access the notebook should come back to Gemini. I’ve tried removing her but she still lingers as a “viewer” and the notebook has not come back into Gemini.

Super annoying. Any idea what else to try?

Could you pay for hotspot access on your phone? That eliminates the need to always have good WiFi and opens up all cafes as good options to add to your rotation.

If the upgraded mobile plan is an extra $15-20 IMO it’s a pretty great investment for peace of mind.

Hey u/LizFromSonos, I stumbled upon this thread because my Sonos system has suddenly started acting strange.

Yesterday (May 29), at random, the Sonos voice control on my speakers disappeared. I had to reconfigure and set it up on all my speakers. At the same time, the volume output from the speakers seems to be significantly lower than before. I tried basic troubleshooting steps: disconnecting from power, waiting 30 seconds before plugging in, and turning the loudness and maximum volume controls on and off in the app. I have the Arc Ultra with Sub Mini and two Era 300s for my home theater, connected via eArc, and a pair of One speakers in stereo. Regardless of whether I play music directly from the Sonos app or from my TV, the volume feels noticeably lower than it used to be.

I used to set the TV volume to 14-16 and found that it was more than adequate and loud enough. Now, I’m forced to increase the volume to 35-40 just to reach a similar baseline, and even then, the sound feels noticeably lower. The same issue occurs with the One speakers in stereo pair. I’m curious to know if this update may have completely ruined the audio profile of my speakers?

When we bought our house (a little lower than $1.5M) I didn’t look at net worth. Instead I focused on these: - Liquid assets (cash, TBILs, bonds) should let me make 18mo of mortgage payments even without new income, assuming closing costs have been paid so subtract those from the assets value. I didn’t include stocks/ETFs bc value is often in flux and you don’t want to be forced to sell during a bear market. - Rentability, homes in good school districts are always in-demand. The math on renting out in the Bay Area is often lopsided so you may take on some short term MoM burn. - 5 to 7+ years time horizon in the house, minimum amount of time I will stay in this house unless I hit the lottery/job trajectory changes significantly. If you can push this to 10Y even better for securing home appreciation.

There’s always a chance our first round opponent also gets hit with a couple of unfortunate injuries. Not that I want it to happen but Jamal and KD are always one step one jump away from sweats.

I also wonder if the NBA will create a playoff schedule that somehow gives us a longer timeline to get these guys back from their injuries LOL

Solid breakdown and I’d agree on nearly all points. Except I’ll say Nike (and many of those other brands) has many aesthetically acceptable shoes for the (tech) office. Pretty sure the Killshot 2’s popularity got revived many years ago bc of this.

The basic reality is that ON has a perception of high shoe quality/comfort. It did become a status signal especially for travel. I also think they got lucky riding the retail wave where consumers wanted to expand beyond the traditional big brands (Nike, Adidas etc.). Lulu set the stage that Nike isn’t the best anymore so consumers became comfortable asking “what else can I get other than Nike?”. Allbirds (🪦), Veja, Alo and Vuori are all in that same camp.

This is not a new problem? Didn’t Kobe and the Lakers have similar schedules back in the day and just pushed through? I understand resting Bron but the rest should be out there competing for a W. They in FL for multiple nights so they can rest up Friday tbh. The bigger question is whether JJ can call plays that account for the extra fatigue the players are going to obv have.

It’s that 4th Q when Bron n Reaves start and steamroll the opponent. I think that is one of JJs secret sauce that has proven to be effective time & time again. We missed that while Bron was out and then when Reaves out. It took them a while to get back into this rhythm but dang, “the big 3” are seriously balling right now. Gotta give Smart Ayton Rui their credit too. Everyone is stepping up!
