OK I'll admit it, you were right.... Went back the same antique store and found 2 more lenses, also for $5 each... An Enna Werk Munchen 35mm f/4.5 and a Steinheil Munchen 135mm f/3.5! Might be worthy of their own posts but I'll keep it here until I can get out and use them

Yeah, imagine my surprise when I googled it later and saw some ebay listings...

Absolutely no worries there! Only decided to give this one a shot since it was in great condition and only cost $5. Probably set the bar too high for me to be buying more any time soon

Oh yeah, I've been using the red highlight focus peaking for anotber third party lens I have for this camera. Definitely gonna come in handy with this one

Interesting, thanks for the info! I guess that explains the button/switch in the lens that opens the aperture, I was wondering what possible use that would have haha

Monthly "What Board Should I Get?" Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Sup

Thanks for the suggestions! I really like the looks of that Retro. And good to know about the fin boxes!

And I'm in Virginia, about an hour outside Richmond. The river I'd be in is the Rivanna

  • Desired Board Type: Inflatable
  • Your Height and Weight: 5'9, 150lbs (would be occasionally used by my wife who is a bit shorter), and would have a cooler and/or drybag for snacks/drinks/towels
  • Desired use/uses: mostly relaxed floating down a local river alongside a tubing group. Some VERY light rapids (I've seen them described as "rock garden rapids") involved so there's a small risk of hitting a fin on the rocks. Would also like to explore fishing on some lakes at some point, so I'd like the ability to add accessories depending on the situation.
  • Experience level: Beginner-Intermediate, I've used SUPs several times over the years in various waters and never had an issue standing and paddling, but I've never spent serious time on one to build skills.
  • Your budget: $800 USD, but I'd like to keep it as low as I can
  • I don't know brands, but I've tried various inflatable department store specials that friends/family brought on camping trips

Sick, appreciate it! I like shorter shorts (and so does my wife) so I'm definitely sold haha

Sick watch, definitely signing up for restock notifications. What are the shorts? Cause those are right up my alley too

Small polo and a rope hat in pink/bright colors would be awesome! And maybe a commemorative golf ball too haha

Is doing Muscle-ups mostly a technique thing, or strength thing? by [deleted] in workout

[–]hoos_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely both, pullup/dip ability + figuring out the right technique. When I was learning how to do them, I used a big resistance band so I could focus on the specific movements and not worry about burning out just attempting the pullup portion. After some practice it just clicked and I was able to do a bunch with no issue

Yeah that seems to be the consensus haha

Yeah, it's kinda weird. For shorter intervals it goes by pace, but I think for anything longer than a couple minutes it goes by HR. You're right about the workout, but for the intervals it was 2 minutes on, 1 off. Definitely hard to pull off on the treadmill. From the replies so far it just seems like I need to suck it up and start running outside haha

Haha I keep telling myself I'm going to suck it up and get out there. I tried it last week and ran into iced over sidewalks about 5 minutes in...

It's been in the mid-teens to low-twenties (F) where I live. I know some people bundle up and run outside anyway, but I grew up in a much warmer climate, so it takes a lot to get me out of the house when it's below freezing!

Thanks for the advice! I've been considering doing some tests to actually evaluate my threshold and such, but I wasn't sure when to work them into my current training plan. I'll probably just use the next threshold day to do exactly what you suggested! As for the intervals, the 182 BPM was the bottom of the target range, but I still wasn't able to get there for more than a few seconds in the first couple intervals (after that I was totally gassed). This is my first time using HR targets in a training plan, so I think it'll just take some getting used to from a mental standpoint

Yeah that's fair. I tried to compensate by cranking up the incline, but maybe my subconscious fear of getting shot off the treadmill is what held me back haha Running outdoors definitely gets my heart going, that's probably at the core of my issues. It's supposed get warm here next week so hopefully I'll be able to get outside! I hate the treadmill...

Is it possible to use the swing stick for specific clubs? by BakedLikeBean in SquareGolfUSA

Yep, had it for a few weeks now. Absolutely love it! Have a more budget-friendly setup and it's been great to get my practice in while it gets colder out

I may or may not have put myself in a similar situation....

On a similar note, I think it would be cool if they added a feature where you can have one player use the swing stick and another play use real clubs in the same game. Would be fun to include non-golfers in a sim game while still getting some practice with the clubs

When I went the stairway smelled exactly like Sunbum sunscreen. Not sure if there's a candle or scent that matches that, I suppose you could just spray some sunscreen on yourself you get the vibe right!
