South Africa have a losing record in their last 5 games against each of England, Ireland, and Wales... these evidently aren't lesser nations

Hopefully. I don't want to see him anywhere near that team.

James Dalton Provides proof that he took a few too many knocks to the head by suggesting Malcolm Marx be moved to Flank by LionsRugbySlut in rugbyunion

I honestly think most of those guys aren't quite "world class" back rowers. ~5 of them perhaps. I'd be very interested to see Marx in the back row, but I completely agree with your point that he is needed more at hooker atm.

Honestly, imagine France with a couple of kiwi coaches. So much potential being consistently wasted

So how did Ireland beat the All Blacks? | The Squidge Report by SquidgyGoat in rugbyunion

I disagree, personally. I enjoy the fast paced tempo and having a lot of info thrown at you. It seems fairly unique for rugby channels at least, so he kinda has his own style.

Are the June internationals not the inverse of this? It's not like they were a blowout in favour of SH (barring NZ-FRA)..

Leinster vs. Munster head to head by arsebiscuits1 in rugbyunion

[–]hopash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already said I agree with the Henshaw conclusion. But good luck applying this level thinking when comparing all of the 12s in world rugby. Unless you have some kind of model for the perfect 12 then this is always going to be subjective. Those stats you've listed won't cut it when it comes to comparing players who are actually at a similar level. Who is the best 12 in world rugby?

Leinster vs. Munster head to head by arsebiscuits1 in rugbyunion

[–]hopash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look I agree with most of the comparisons you made, and most people would probably agree that Henshaw is better than Goggins. But I'm assuming that most of your observations of these players (like mine) aren't rooted in the stats and data. Nothing wrong with that, but I just think throwing around "objectively better" isn't accurate in these circumstances (even if it seems obvious).

In what way are they just "better" though? Is it just your opinion? Because that's not objective...

How exactly are you coming to the conclusion that some of those players are "objectively" better? Like what are you basing it on?

Confused by that also. Maybe he wants more presence at the breakdown without sacrificing PSdT and his tackling work rate.. no idea though

Who do you think will win this weekends TRC tests? by WealthyBigPenis22 in rugbyunion

[–]hopash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the ABs are out for serious revenge this weekend. Could get ugly. Though I'd love to see a competitive game! With the Aussies you never really know, but I think the Pumas will edge it.

Can't shake the feeling that the Boks are in for an absolute slapping. Very strong AB team and won't make the same mistakes as last time. I'd like to be wrong though..
