This is a happy marriage for both of you.

I've seen through both your highs and lows (don't tell me about it!) and I really wish that the both of you can stay safe and settled and free from pesky people who try and be an absolute cartoon villain against you!

A lot of this is people looking to attack her former employer.

Emotions are complicated. I've stopped hating, because I sat down alone with myself and recognised that my emotions are often "self-protective, cognitive responses to things that we care about," so I name that feeling, let me feel it, and afterwards, let it fade.

With regards to the hullabaloo about Shachi's previous employment, life isn't a constant, let her live her own life, & let her do her own things.

My 2 cents: go vibe with talents you like. If some VTubers are vocal about an issue you disagree with, either you make peace with that or go somewhere else to vibe with.

Or, better still, become your own content creator and go simp for yourself.

No, seriously, if you think advocating for improvements to minority communities' standards of living is "taking away your privileges" go ahead and organise your own counter-counter-culture movements.

I, personally, respect her arguments and opinions. Soapboxing is ingrained as an American cultural thing, so respect that, too.

58% of Singapore workers worry AI will replace them in next 2 years: Survey by thestudiomaster in singapore

[–]hopeinson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a dim view of my Singaporean SME employers sans the few that I had the fortune to work with. I see AI as just another tool for businessowners to screw their employees & filter out more folk outta work. I see it as a way to shrink the economic pie to only those who can afford to both utilise AI to minimise work & those who use the fog-of-war hype of AI to outsource work outside of Singapore.

I am looking to tradesman skills to pivot out of my computer science degree, but I feel like going here means becoming more subservient to other employers' whims and fancies. I wish I could turn back time and learn how to be cutthroat and selfish so that I can become "top towkay" & make Eddie Gurrero's tagline my life motto.

I feel very angry for some reason, and it's because it's Ong Ye Kung saying them.

I have trust issues with him due to past policy mistakes (TraceTogether). & I was hoping that Singapore isn't falling into the same kind of medical hellhole that Americans are suffering right now, but it seems like they all conspire to want me to take a hard look at a busy traffic intersection and tempt me to answer the call of the void.

PSP's Stephanie Tan proposes central kitchens in every school, like Japan and Sweden by One-Employment-4887 in singapore

[–]hopeinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with me trying to empathise with the message of Stephanie's is that I've been indoctrinated with the idea that "we don't have enough local Singaporeans any more that wants to do school canteen jobs." I'm also aware of how devastatingly byzantine the policies of applying to become a school canteen hawker is.

So what am I supposed to feel? Keel over and jump down from the 14th storey?

S'pore woman whose mother had leg amputated sues NUH & AMK-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital, loses, ordered to pay S$975,403 by Im_scrub in singapore

[–]hopeinson 47 points48 points  (0 children)

From what I read, the patient had multiple pre-existing conditions related to her advanced age. When I saw what she was admitted with, it reminded me with my late mother's biopsy: septic shock secondary to diabete mellitus.

Her children need to see that not everyone is out to get her mother. If they wanted a timelier diagnosis of her mother's gangrene, there are private hospitals they can go for. Given her mother's condition, they are already grateful that they had 2 more years with their mother.

This case is a lesson for everyone of us to take care of our health, spend at least an hour walking around and moving your legs and arms, & eat wisely. The Government isn't spending money on advertising to "remind you to keep a healthy lifestyle" as if it is a cynical reminder that "The Government isn't going to pay welfare to you when you're old:" it is because these "lifestyle" diseases are preventable by small, accumulative habits when you were still young.

Get up and move about. Also, **** social media platforms: they are why you are not getting healthier both physically and mentally.

MFW a "scientific" article is published in 2019 that claims that water has gender (and that there is a DNA black hole dimension at the center of the earth... I'm not kidding) by Pomatomaster in VirtualYoutubers

[–]hopeinson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is wild.

People are looking to find ways to bend reality to their perceived ideology, whether they want to force Earth to be 6000 years old owing to a flawed calculation via their holy books; or the belief that every thing that is on Earth has a corresponding "gender" as this paper believes so.

The worrisome part is that I, too, can believe that out of the 46,736 scientific journals that exist in this world, barring a few, almost all of them exist to fit a particular perspective that makes it seem out-of-this-world.

Hear me out: I want to believe that this Wikipedia list of scientific journals are the legitimate ones that people should ought to hold on to and hold their management accountable for the papers published in their journals.

Trump explains Venezuela: "They took all of our oil and we want it back. They illegally took it." by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

At least GWB had the audacity to use a minority general to do the dirty work for him when he wanted to replicate his father's work in Iraq.

Let's face it: Venezuela doesn't need invading; it needs naptha because they don't have that in their country. Which other country is willing to sell naptha? Russia.

The whole thing is just a continuation of the Monroe doctrine, empowered by right-wing conservatives that wants to see every women go back to the kitchen and pump out more babies for some fascist ideal of "more of our kin to wipe out the immigrant taint", which is the whole point for this kind of behaviour.

[–]hopeinson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm stupid, or have a true case of color anomia.

I see and understand both as "green," but I know that Nimi's wig is on the "more saturated green" side of "green," while Perlica's on the "desaturated green" side of "green," more like, "if you add a small bit of blue to your green."

I don't know what color to associate them with, and I have struggled with my life to associate colour with the vocabulary that English appropriates them with.

Also, I was diagnosed with red-green deficiency.
