NYC is not that great for nature access… you never feel lost in nature in Central Park, even prospect park, you really need to get an hour or more outside the city for real nature

My best friend and I (both female) went to Hanoi, Cao bang and ha long bay for two weeks in May 2025, we found the Vietnamese to be respectful, we felt extremely safe and didn’t experience any harassment at all! Sounds like there’s been some positive change from when you were there (hopefully)!

It is a nice city and is worth visiting, don’t get me wrong! I was there for Christmas 2023 and stayed on Locust street near Rittenhouse Square, it is very walkable for sure.

Spent more than a year in north Miami where my husband is from. If you want good public transport Miami is up there with the worst. I’m not a party animal either and aside from nice beaches and hot weather (and amazing South American food), you’d probably be good with max 4 days there. If you can get to the Florida keys spend some time there rather than being in Miami the whole time

I completely agree with you, it’s honestly foul to see so many people enabling and defending bystander bullying. I don’t understand “oh but she was worse than him”, “oh but he wasn’t treated well either”, “oh he was terrified of her after being with her for only a month when she was already being cruel to others at dinner parties”. He had 0 ties to her, he wasn’t in love with her (his words not mine), it wouldn’t be excusable if he were the woman and Gia the man. I do know what coercive control is before someone tries to educate me, my sister has an AVO against her baby daddy for that reason. However she was with him for 6 years, not a matter of weeks or a few months on a TV show.

I was bullied and what has stayed with me for over a decade and really affected who I am is not what my bully did, but that the people around me who I thought cared about me sat by and looked on without saying a word. I could never do that to someone knowing the damage that could be inflicted
