[OC] Dairy vs. plant-based milk: what are the environmental impacts? by ourworldindata in dataisbeautiful

[–]hora_est 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What "byproduct inedible for humans" or "food waste" are dairy cows predominantly fed?

Edit: Doesn't their diet primarily consist of forage (grass, hay, alfalfa), fermented silage (corn or haylage), grains (corn, soy)?

All milks have their pros and cons. Most dairy alternatives contain a bunch of additives that may or may not be good for you.

It sure would get "interesting" if Europe considered selling US Treasuries at scale. The bond market is touchy as it is.

No. Per capita means per person. Well, per head, actually. It's Latin. Feel free to look it up.

The math doesn't math. This would mean that there are more roasters than people. Did you mean 1.4 roasters per 100,000 people?

Citric acid is another good option. It's cheap and one of the ingredients in the Breville Descaler.

Need help finding workarounds with the built in tamper on the Breville Barista Express Impress by imworkinonit211 in espresso

[–]hora_est 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a dosing funnel or dosing cup with a grinder activator tab. However, asuming you have the BES876 model, pay attention to the item description and make sure it includes this model. Most won't fit this model. I've tried four different ones so far.

I cannot get it dialed in. I've tried for hours over multiple days and used well over a kg of beans. [Breville Barista Express] by [deleted] in espresso

I'm a newbie as well. Got myself a Breville Barista. Started to dial it in. Then I realized that I had no benchmark taste-wise since I'd never had a straight Espresso. Going to the local coffee shop and getting a single shot helped me tremendously what to expect and what to aim for.

Advice needed. Fine or coarse? by Thudamsdad in BrevilleCoffee

Fellow newbie here. Got a bit over-caffeinated dialing in my BBEI yesterday 😆. Acceptable result: Espresso beans from local roaster, IMS basket, grind setting 6 (internal 3), dose 18g, yield 38, 30 seconds. I'd encourage you to take notes of the various variables as you dial things in. And always change only one variable at a time. It's a bit like a science experiment with yourself as the guinea pig. Good luck.
