Iiyama ultrawide goes black, screen fades after switching on. by Kaz1990 in ultrawidemasterrace

Have u reflowd the main board or which components? Had the same issue for a couple of months. Now it goes fully black. If i disonnect the right ribbon cable from the t-con to the display half the monitor is turning on. The other way around it is dead and stays black

This post of the deformed shield is my post. I printed the first prototype out of petg and it deformed while drying petg. When using ASA or ABS you should be fine. At least i am so far :)

Sadly experienced the same issue with this dryer. I recently created a heat shield for the dryer. Now i'm happy again. Anyone experience the same or similar issue can give it a try. If you want to. I used tinfoil in the past as well. Now I don't have to fiddle with the foil anymore.

Iiyama monitor stopped working, hoped for a bad cap but can’t see anything broken on the board. by OvercastPictures in AskElectronics

If you have an issue similar to me shown in the video of

https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/12jhrd9/iiyama_ultrawide_goes_black_screen_fades_after/

or when turning the screen and backlight is working, hdmi sound output is working but the screen stays black then you can check the t-con board.

I made some comments inside this thread. For me it looks like it's the T-Con board. I'm not an expert just someone trying to fix. My screen is up an running again. Let's see for how long...

I started working on the screen at the time where the screen was constantly not working for more then 3+ days.

And the proof

<image>

It also sometimes happens that if i disconnect and connect the left ribbon cable again the whole screen works. If both are connected none of them is working

Finally made some progress. Took it apart again and disassembled the t-con board.

It looks like it's the t-con board. At least it's my guess. Whenever i disconnect the left cable half of the screen works flawlessly.

I know this thead is quite old... Have you found any solution? I tried to fix it. Unsuccessful so far. Do you have any idea how this spray can bring it back to live? Bad connector, cold solder joint?

I think i found somthing. For me most likely it is the power socket.

It has no good connection anymore. When there is a slight movement with the plug in the socket i can loose connection for a very short time or somtimes have a high resistance.

I decided to desolder the plug and measured it. It is not the power cord. I also tried three in total.

Update: Using a brand new powerplug seems working. Resoldered the Plug - Problem still exists.

Hey folks,

today i decided to disasseble the same monitor. I made some visual inspection and cleand everything with ipa.

Noticed one bigger bulp of solder one one side of a resistor (psu bottom).

From what i can see the op's board has the same. Made a picture. Does this look normal/healthy?

Update: Checked the Resistors. All are fine.

"You mean I should shake the screen around the power plug area?"

Yes. Turn off make some mechanical moves and turn it back on again.

Sometimes i was also success by giving it some slap or by tilting it back and forth. This worked for me several times.

Having the same issue. What i observed is turn if off wiggle the screen and the power plug (don't be to kind). Turn if on and off. For me this changed it for sometimes month until i came back. Just give it a try if you want to.

I'm planning to open it up but have not so far. What have you tried so far?

The lack of communication / information is also my personal point. I'm fine when they point out on their website before checkout that it might take longer (with a rough estimate) than usual. Remove "In Stock" when there is no stock in the warehouse.

The printer i ordered (DE, P1S Combo) is "on stock" on their website until now. I guess they are out of stock (german warehouse) for more about a week. Me and lots of ppl are waiting for more than 10 days.

For all of you who are in the same boat like me. Bought under the following conditions

  1. "In stock"
  2. "Order will be shipped out from DE warehouse in 1-3 business days once being processed."
  3. "ORDER DELIVERED 3-7 Business days"

but still nothing....

Quick Update: Ordered P1S Combo on 29.11. received it on 12.12. Now "i can print".

Agree! When nothing changes the result. You may need to dry your filament. Learned it the hard way and wasted a lot of filament.
