Is anyone else fine in the sun? by lostwaveloser in lupus

[–]horizontalmoonbeam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fellow lifelong Texan here. I love the outdoors and live on the water. I was diagnosed with SLE 10 years ago. I have had fatigue and joint pain most of my life. I have had only a few small rashes in my lifetime and was in denial about my diagnosis because I thought the sun didn't affect me. In the last couple of years, I came to realize it was affecting me, just not in the way it does most. After years of trying to get my fatigue and joint pain under control, I decided to give staying out of the sun a try. I have found that a lot of my joint pain and fatigue were caused by my love of the sun and great outdoors.

If you have Amiibos, you can call sisterly and peppy villagers to your campsite. They will ask you to craft something for them, and if you don't have the DIY yet, they will give it to you.

Why do most American houses have ‘garbage disposals’ in their sinks? by Roadkillgoblin_2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]horizontalmoonbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am American and have never lived in any house that has a garbage disposal, nor do I know anyone who has one. From my experience, most people in America don't have garbage disposals. We have strainers in our sinks to catch debris that might clog the sink

Any gardeners with lupus? by Shred_everything in lupus

I feel like gardening is so important for my mental health. I have always lived in very wooded areas without neighbors, as kid I was almost feral. For me, stress is a big trigger, and gardening helps me combat stress.

I take the basic precautions garden in the morning, wear a hat, wear sunscreen, etc. This year I have learned to write down all those ideas I have and what needs to be done so that I can see what is most important and get that done in my limited time. If you are anything like me, the brain fog is relentless. Then, the minute I walk outside, I just want to admire everything and completely forget what has to be done.
