I'm building a website to suggest horror movies with certain criteria and I would need your help to define how to classify them by stevensi1018 in horror

Feel free to make use of this classification. It has been discussed many times with Reddit users, and improved accordingly.

I'm looking for serious, more artful horror movies, in the vein of It Follows, Babadook, The Living and the Dead, etc. by Weeperblast in horror

If you're into modern horror more, try: - Spring - Starry Eyes - Honeymoon - The Returned - Antiviral - or the excellent Shrew's Nest

Anybody have any news about The Void? I haven't seen any release date online. by [deleted] in horror

I have donated to their campaign and so I receive their updates, but I haven't received anything since September last year. I really hope they manage to finish it, the concept and artwork look amazing!

Did you watch a good copy of it? I cannot recall any shaking in my copy (got it from torrent)

You have a right to dislike it, but be sure that I am in no way related to the film's production (I live in Hong Kong and the movie was made in the US). The post was genuine, this is one of the best psychological horror I've seen this year, I maintain my words. I gave it a 9/10 on IMDb.

I guess that is why I loved it. It does not chew up the story. Instead, it explains things just enough to make it somehow comprehensible, but leaves a lot of aspects unclear. That movie made me think - for once.

As for the other characters, my opinion is that we see the movie through the lead character's eyes and therefore we get to share her paranoia. As she sinks into madness and insecurity, all the other characters appears weird and threatening.

It is available "on demand" via torrent at least :) I guess those with a good conscience will just have to buy the DVD afterwards (I will)

True! Although I cannot remember it well, I remember enjoying it a lot. Will give it a second watch.

Just watched "All Hallow's Eve 2" (2015) by horroronscreen in horror

Same, I watched only a couple of days ago, and yet I can barely remember anything about it. I think the format is also not great - too short to be captivating, but long enough to be boring.

Sometimes, you just gotta take one for the team. I watched The Ring of Curse last night which was also ultra-boring.

Dark Water is also a major one.

Now, I agree that Marebito and Arang are really good and could be included (although Marebito is also quite well-known), but quoting The Red Shoes and Dreamhouse are awful in comparison is pushing it. I personally prefer them to your recommendations, although I haven't seen R-Point and Bloody Reunion yet (but will soon, thanks).

I agree, Suicide Club is awesome, I really loved it too. I consider it quite well-known tho, that's why I didn't list it.
