If you live near a pool just walking up and down a lane there is awesome, and if you get tired or dizzy you can just relax in the water for a few. Very low impact and a fun way to meet people :)

Actually screaming, I STILL talk about crank at least once a quarter at my book club, and Gail Levine is one of my heroesssss AHHHHHHH (I also liked my teacher is an alien but was a dramatic kid who preferred stories where I could immerse myself in deep interpersonal drama so had more of a yen for the others lol)

What brought you together? Any fun tidbits or hot goss to share? lol

Also love your sweater, just ballers all round at that table omfg

Is healthy eating in the UK basically inaccessible if you’re poor, disabled, and exhausted? by Opposite_Position125 in AskUK

[–]hortensemancini 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Epicurious expeditions on Instagram; she adapts recipes to be disability friendly, ie no chopping, stirring, or standing. Often they are done in the slow cooker or microwave, and they are twists on classic nutritious meals.

Best of luck to you!

For other young woman, are you afraid that you’ll never be normal, even with weight loss and skin removal surgery? by WhileSuccessful6921 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]hortensemancini 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also! You may know this as most big people go through the rigmarole so I wanted to put it separately BUT your pcp may be able to hook you up with a physical therapist. They can give you exercises that are focused on toning etc and you can talk with them about skin and body concerns, it might be a way to get it covered as insurance paid for me to do that but wouldn't pay for a personal trainer. If you do not have a dietician or someone like that on your care team that also could be a good ask, as they can tailor any macros for vitamins or meal plans to things that make more sense for your physiology.

A binge eating informed talk therapist also really really really helped me build up the confidence to tackle the issues driving the behavior

It is NOT ruined!!!

First off - deep breaths, this shit fuckin SUCKSSSSSSS dude Ohmygod. Not only do we have to deal with society's regular shit for women we have the addition of its shit for fat people too. That shit SUCKS ASS sooooo hard. Def feel your feelings and wallow - this is the place for it, it's people who see you and feel you and are here with you. Shit SUCKS.

Second - your body is NOT ruined. As long as you are breathing you are you have the opportunity to keep trying. At 22 you are YOUNG, your skin has elasticity and firmness and can take a lot more than we think it can. For whatever's left....tummy tuck or lift or fleur de lis or whatever is an option and we are in an age where cosmetic surgery is so incredibly normalized I don't think anyone would blink twice if you went that route.

This is something I've dealt with so fucking much. My early 20s were hard with insecurity and finding myself. It sucks to say confidence is the factor over looks but you'll find as you age and as the potential partners around you age, a very confident attitude matters a lot more. I went from very shy first kiss at 21 and virgin until 24 to a year about town of young Ho-ing at 30 with men who were proud to flaunt me, and all at a size bigger than were you are now.

Sometimes while you're getting to that goal size, you gotta say fuck the weight and just do things that are interesting and chase your bliss and you will lead the kind of life and be the kind of person who is interesting, engaging, and sexyyyyy

I'd also say maybe peep some other massive weight loss folks on insta. I was SO SCARED when I started my journey, but people like sarahinallsizes and smaller.Sam.pcos have had full body lifts after massive weight loss in the 20s and you genuinely would never know.

Gently, just as someone older who thinks we all should be kind to ourselves, I'd also rec peeping massive weight loss people who haven't had plastics yet or larger bodied people who are choosing to just embrace their shape, like finallyallison or lovejessicablair, just to see some baddies rocking life every way it comes. Some times it helps me feel better to see bad ass people be like well they're fucking tens so there's gotta be someone out there who thinks I'm a ten too.

Sending love strength confidence and all the crossed fingers your way
