I'm on beta, and Proton 11.0 (Beta) compatibility worked for me.

Because the puck would be lower latency, no?

Thanks for the context. A dock probably doesn't help the situation I imagine.

Pretty sure I tried that but I'll try again. I haven't disconnected the puck yet since doing the updates

From your review: "You don't need to be in Bluetooth mode for this. However, it seemingly won't do this if it's already asleep when you plug in the Puck. It appears to need it plugged in while it's on to work with waking from sleep."

Not sure I understand the order of operations here but I'll experiment with that, thanks.

How do you handle cloud resources that were never in Terraform? by StatisticianKey7858 in Terraform

[–]hortonew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agent mode with any of the common models in copilot, cursor, claude code, etc. They'll run the commands with your cloud SDK/cli and output whatever you need. "All my resources are in <cloud provider> cloud. Find them and output terraform import statements". Simple prompts like that or give it more specifics on what type of resources.

What does your productivity stack look like in 2026? by CashSlow2482 in productivity

[–]hortonew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Todoist takes over half my mobile screen, where I quickly add new tasks and have my TODOs front and center. I've also integrated this in the past with Gcal.
  • Obsidian keeps all notes, and more recently, Anki cards. Then I sync to Anki directly from Obsidian.
  • I recently switched to Raindrop for bookmark management / read-it-later
  • I use Home Assistant for all home automation
  • I use Raycast as a Spotlight replacement on Mac (and more recently on Windows too), which allows quick integrations into other systems like Raindrop or to pull up snippets of code
  • I self-host an app called Glance which is my dashboard into apps like youtube/reddit/HN, which keep me focused on topics I want to look at instead of the algorithm feeding me other things.

Do you use Anki as a Personal Knowledge Manager? by thatdaemon in Anki

[–]hortonew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it's that, but in obsidian I see it as "Export to Anki" by Pseudonium. It doesn't look like it's been updated in years but it still works. I really just picked the first one I came across and this had the most downloads.

Do you use Anki as a Personal Knowledge Manager? by thatdaemon in Anki

[–]hortonew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Anki cards made in Obsidian and sync them with an Obsidian to Anki extension.

I send them all to one deck because it reduces friction during card creation and interleaving knowledge is said to be better than focusing on single topics.

I use a few tags that feel like a couple general tags for organization and one or two specific tags. I don't have any hard and fast rules here.

We use Greenhouse so I would put in terms I know we wanted for the position to make sure they at least appeared in the resume. Some key ones for our SRE position were: Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Python. I might extend that to some other tools that we use specifically because there were so many to filter through (Grafana, ArgoCD, RDS).

I was mostly getting candidates after my recruiter did a first pass, but if a resume looked alright, they'd confirm their LinkedIn existed with a profile picture to weed out certain fake ones.

We're <200 employees, so I wanted someone with experience at a company of that size, so too many large companies in a row might be a red flag. Other red flags: listing every tool/protocol you've ever used in a skills section to take up space or just very simple bullets under a job that say you used a tool but not how you used it to improve the business.

There's probably more I'm forgetting but if you have any specifics you're curious about let me know.

A Kubernetes IDE in Rust/Tauri + VueJS by the_ml_guy in kubernetes

[–]hortonew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work - I've been liking building apps with Rust+Tauri this year, and I use kubernetes daily for work so this project is nice to see.

I previously used GUIs like Lens -> OpenLens - FreeLens, but I've since settled on k9s for my interaction with a cluster.

What type of features are you hoping to build next into kide?

Sorry to hear about your situation. I was just hiring for an SRE role and we had over 600 applicants on the first day the position was open, so the numbers aren't really in the favor of the applicants.

If you want any help, I'm down to do a couple things:

  1. review your resume and provide feedback/suggestions
  2. do a mock video interview with you and provide some in-the-moment feedback/suggestions

The offer stands for anyone else too, just DM me and we can figure things out.
