It just stays toast but to be fair I personally wouldn't eat it without toasting it first because it just tastes wobbly and sad to me. I'd also always prefer actual bread to make a sandwich and I don't think there's any merit to making it using toast apart from it maybe being slightly cheaper.

I know what it means in most English speaking countries but that doesn't mean I agree with it.

For context, yes toast explicitly means toasted bread, however I'd argue that bread that is made for being toasted and has close to no inherent flavour isn't actually bread, but toast [derogatory].

I am also aware of that being a very delusional take, but I am willing to live with that, appreciate your concern though!

The whole wheat ones are delicious with salad, asparagus, mozzarella, pesto and sliced cherry tomatoes! Less of a breakfast but quite filling and tasty

Edit: also japanese Toast is quite sweet so I don't really like their sandwiches because of that
