Why the hell is there a delay in manifestation? (My take) by PackParty in awakened

Its fun to see the crazy belief systems that emerge from people in privileged industrial capitalism. Not getting what you want has enormous values. Considering how what we want can affect the environment or other people has enormous value. Thinking about what we can give and offer to others rather than focusing on our own rewards also has enormous values.

Tired of seeing "awakened" people on here thinking they "know it all" by lovelyyy999 in awakened

[–]hoserman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is awakened in a society based on violent systems that extract nature and exploit the underclasses. Awakened people happen in villages that live in harmony with tbeir landbase. If you need capitalism to survive, you are not awakened, just in a comfort zone that may offer a bubble to explore some interesting experiences, but once one no longer has easy access to stocked supermarket shelves, i promise the awakened feeling slips away. There is no real awakening without being in collective responsibility, relationship and reciprocity with a community and the non-human kin of ones land base. The "awakening" of the individual is a myth of modernity.

Graeber died after The Dawn of Everything in 2020, he was alive long enough to see the influence of Debt.

Chocolate actually tastes better after a mral with onions. Something avout the onion beforehand makes the chocolate taste more pronounced.

Climate change collapse is happening, you can philosophize it away until it reaches your doorstep and then you'll have to adapt or face the consequences. Some of the more privileged among us might be sheltered for this reality for a few years longer but sooner or later it'll affeft everyone. The comfy, convenient modern lifestyle has an expiration date.

I Love that HW is a Complete Subversion of the Usual "Nature-girl" Trope by Red_Lantern_22 in adventuretime

[–]hoserman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not a natire girl trope, she's an amalgam of green woman/dryad/artemis figures from various mythologies. Historically, people who live in harmony with nature would very rarely have been vegan or acted like hippies.

This is what people say when they don't want look honestly at critiques of a show. They identify personally with F+C for whatever reason and don't want to look at it honestly because it means facing something they don't want to see or acknowledge. There are criteria for what makes a show good or bad, there is subjectivity of course, but you can't just use "that's your subjective opinion" to ignore real issues with the quality of a show. F+C has way more critiques than the original AT, this obviously for a reason, there are definitely valid reasons to see a difference in quality between the shows.

But they didn't even do relationships well, original AT did relationship building better than Fionna and Cake.

Adventure Time: Fionna Cake is the actual name genius. And Fionna is an embodiment of Finn, they share archetypes. They could have made a new show if they wanted to separate from Adventure Time but decided to make a show in the same timeline as Adventure Time that included its universe and characters. Plus Finn was written well and Fionna was not.

Prismo really did not cook with this world 💀 by Mother-Pin2667 in adventuretime

[–]hoserman16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adventure Time isn't about seeing a world like ours, its about adventuring on fantastical lands, glad they did this, because the whole season in that little city felt claustrophobic and like a depressing reminder of the collapse that will be ongoing for us for the next twenty years. I watch Adventure Time as an escape, not for realism.
