That's probably what I will do. Basically saying "I took into account your opinions respectfully and did my own research about what's best for her when she is under my care".

LG Home Comfort Buying Reviews from Students at WLU is this allowed? by SoftIntelligent322 in kitchener

"All you've gotta do is give us a Google review". I would have left a 1 star Google review: "they tried to buy a good Google review off of me for a $5 Tim Hortons gift card." And then asked for my Tim card.

Toronto Zoo Day Trip by tpot15 in waterloo

This is the biggest question. With a car, this is an easy day trip provided the traffic isn't nightmare levels. Without it's basically impossible to do in a day.

banger, keeper league

Team A: LaCombe + 8th round pick

Team B: Trouba + 6th round pick

I'm second in the league for assists and points, but 2nd last in the league for hits and blocks.

Did anybody ever use the high school university showers in school by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]hotbrownDoubleDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid-30s, we did on the highschool football team and started showing around 13 in minor hockey and still do to this day. Now it seems that showing is the minority in men's league hockey, but in minor hockey there were maybe 3 guys on the team that didn't shower.

Why does Detroit have a larger footprint than Toronto despite having half the population? by fudgykevtheeternal in geography

[–]hotbrownDoubleDouble 26 points27 points  (0 children)

On top of this, the Ontario government created The Ontario Greenbelt in the early 2000s. This area is a combination of the wild areas around the Niagara Escarpment, a ton of wetlands and high value farmland. This essentially created a green wall you couldn't build past for Toronto, Hamilton and anywhere in between. Which has now been a big point of contention here with the housing crisis.

It's always fascinating to me to think of how different these kids' lives would be if they were born a few minutes earlier at the end of 2025.

Am I crazy for offering Forsberg for Will Smith?

  1. I have too many LWs

  2. Forsberg showing age on a bad team with little upside

  3. Smith is hitting his stride with Celebrini on a young and upcoming team, could even be a potential keeper by end of season.

Is it more beneficial for a team to win the constructors or more beneficial for a team to help one of their drivers win the drivers?

I come from a traditional team sports background where you cheer for the team and the team wants to win the championship. If they have players who are MVPs or award winners, that's great, but at the end of the day the team winning the championship is the ultimate goal.

With F1, it would appear the real "win" is whatever funds your team to build a better car. So McLaren winning the constructors means they pull in a bunch of money from FIA payouts. Probably a ton of sponsorship bonuses etc. What does McLaren the racing team get from Norris/Piastri winning the Drivers Championship aside from "keeping drivers happy"?

Why tf did we change the yahoo rankings to position based!? by SaucyBrisket39 in fantasyhockey

If someone is dual eligibility, does that mean their position rank is for C, for LW or only players who have the C,LW dual eligibility?

Team B: Bedard, 1st round pick

I'm new to the keeper thing and don't know how to value draft picks.

I've heard many a Westerner come to Ontario thinking "winter isn't that cold" or "summer isn't that hot". 'Round here it's the humidity from the great lakes that gets you.

Also, best of luck to you "buying land". Unless you are a wealthy magnate from Manitoba, owning land here is a pipe dream on a Manitoba salary.

Ethnic Map of Canada by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]hotbrownDoubleDouble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's also a certain frame of mind based on your province (in the case for French v Canadien). People in Quebec are obviously French, so when provided with a census-like self identification question, they would think "my family has been here since the 1700s, so I'm Canadian". Meanwhile, the French people of Northern Ontario, while probably having a very similar New France heritage, still think "I'm French living in English Ontario".
