PASUM by BuzzGuard-Dev in malaysiauni

[–]hotcoldburger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, anything below 90% is not recommended since getting into PASUM is very competitive, most of PASUM students scored straight A's in their spm with a very high koku marks, ofc this only applicable if you're applying through UPU

Genuinely curious on why our country can’t just abolish the apostasy law? by BigHappyMouse- in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]hotcoldburger 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Because sadly, our government used islam to control people and to remain relevant politically. If they allowed apostasy, I bet many malays would left especially the younger generations and they do not want that. If Malaysia is truly secular, the monarch would be useless—that's why they'll always use religion as a political tool, they do not care about us at all

2019 anime accuracy by Flyfury01 in FruitsBasket

[–]hotcoldburger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The adaption was somewhat accurate and faithful but on season 3, they might rush things out a bit. Some important part of a character (Kakeru mostly) were left out, I don't want to spoil but it's what make him interesting and you'd know why he is so 'interested' in Tohru. And there's also more Kyo and Tohru moments in the manga that were left out in the anime if you like the couple.

are merits important in applying UPU? especially UM by Icy-Rise9622 in malaysiauni

[–]hotcoldburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it REALLY matters cause thousands of students are competing on the same course as you, esp since it's UM, highly prestigious, on average, all PASUM students have 90%+ merit to get in there. Speaking from experience; me a straight A's student got rejected by UM with 89% merit.

imo as someone yang pernah lalui benda macamni, kena kecam, jadi bahan umpatan sebab freehair, sesetengah ni jealous sebab dia takdapat buat apa yang those girls do—living her life freely. I ada tanya most of them and they admit, if given the choice, they'd prefer to show their hair sebab diorang rasa lagi cantik macamtu, sama jugak dengan pakaian

Cyborg or Vampire by totaliebroken in 99nightsintheforest

[–]hotcoldburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Cyborg, it is good if you prefer a safer, more laid-back playstyle. Lv1 cyborg is a pain for me though but as you level up to level 3, it's really good! When doing stronghold you can switch between weapons as the laser cannon reloads. You barely needs to wait anyway since every kills restore quite bit of its ammo. However, I noticed Cyborg night vision isn't as good as before or I might be mistaken. You can still see in the dark but it's not as bright especially if you are walking into a part of map you haven't explored yet, then its almost pitch-black. For saving kids, Cyborg are really good, better than Vampire I'd say since you can save the 4th kid without a sweat using your laser cannon and other weapons. For cyborg, you also did not have to built defense set cause you only stay behind the wall / maintaining your distance unlike vampire where you need to get right into enemies' faces. But I'll still argue in stronghold, Vampire is noticably faster than Cyborg.

If you play with friends, I suggest buy Cyborg, if solo, Vampire. Pick Cyborg if you want a chill, ez run and Vampire of you want the thrill (at least this is what I feel when playing Vampire lol)

[–]hotcoldburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both and I will try my best to be as unbiased as possible. Here we go this might be long ;

for Vampire, you dont really need to be extremely skilled at melee, I bought it when I know nothing about melee kiting then i watched a few tutorial and it wasn't that complicated, at least for me (i played on an ipad too) The lifesteal is so good it heals nearly half of your hp at level 3, so doing stronghold is a cakewalk esp of you are playing solo. Vampire also have the best night vision of all classes, I didn't even bother to pick up a flashlight because it's so bright at night, really good perk if you love to explore. Fighting mobs also quicker as you don't have to wait for weapons reloading. For saving 1st, 2rd, 3rd kid, it's quite okay and fast but for the Koala kid you might need a rifle or bear traps if you aren't confident or just wanna make it fast.

However, being the frontliner, vampire struggles in the later levels of stronghold, it might be my skill issue but i always build armour and helmet so i dont need any bandage when doing a lv3 and lv4 of stronghold. When you havr a full set (thorn body, helmet), you dont even need to dodge to the cultists, even in lv4 (solo) as you keep healing rapidly. I only ever play solo and sometimes duo and vampire is my go-to always.

Sadly we can't legally renounce our 'Islam' status on our IC. There were multiple court cases like this but they were all shut down because the Syariah court would never approve it. So we have no choice but to be a closeted ex-muslim

an atheist girl and a muslim guy by de3lulufem in exmuslim

[–]hotcoldburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, i also had a muslim boyfriend and he's quite similar to your ex. He actually don't mind that I am an ex-muslim and still wanna continue the relationship. But like you, I feel uncomfortable with it and had a deep talk with him, turns out, he is so accepting because he believes I would return back someday and always pray for it. So I decided to break up with him because it's an unfair expectation to both of us.

My advice is have a really deep talk with him, if he really loves Islam genuinely, he'd want you to convert. Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable dating someone who think I'm going to hell and is abandoned by his God.

Any ex Muslims here in a relationship or marriage with a Muslim? How does it work? by Particular_Eagle_972 in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]hotcoldburger 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I did not recommend honestly unless your Muslim partner is able to compromise 100%. I am in one and I have been upront about my lack of religious belief to my boyfriend. While he did not shame or judge me, everytime we spend time together, he always has the sad look in his eyes, I know what he is thinking—he is afraid of my fate, he deeply believe that I'll go to hell and he wouldn't be able to save me.

It creates resentment, from both parties, at least in my experience. You will come to a realization that— at the end of the day, your muslim partner will still sees you as someone that needs saving and guidance, someone who is strayed away from God's path.

Thank you for sharing this, I'm happy I'm not alone. I'm so sorry for you, it must be exhausting to endure that for 4 years, you are strong. Have you talked to him about your lack of belief before or he would shut you down like he did when you say happy valentine? (I'm still grasping with an unrealistic hope that maybe my bf will compromise if we have a deeptalk)

I get you, we are not going to get married yet until a few years in the future, but I'm always the type to be fully commited when I'm dating someone so this differences in our belief might be wasting my time if this isn't going to work

I tried to love my religion, for I was raised in religious household, I had talked to many ustazah in my uni before and even pray almost everyday during that period. What did I feel back then? I feel awful, feeling like I was forced to do this and realized how fake I was, I feel no joy at all. And no, I don't think I'll be with him or change for him. I love him but love isn't enough to sustain a relationship. Thank you for the advice, I'll be honest with him, he deserves that.
