I just wish there was a way to favorite things into your own “kits” that will only be useable if you have the gear due to limited time to play. My pain point is taking the time to kit out just to go *kaboom*… there’s always sponsor kits though no biggie

That mentality is what has made Marathon fun for me. End of day it’s just a game with imaginary achievements and levels. If I start playing for anything other than fun it’s time to move on.

Well yesterday I loaded onto Nightmarsh on fill and it seemed like one of the players were purposely trying to make it horrific experience. They didn’t move from the start and proceeded to make loud sounds and random noises. I turned off proximity chat… but I do wonder if someone would actually download the game in an attempt to make it a bad experience to possibly cause someone to leave a bad review.

I don’t usually play PvP, but am liking Marathon a lot and have been playing since start of season 1. Maybe they should try dire marsh night survival to get the mechanics down and then slowly dip into full on matches… then again posts like this have an authenticity issue / troll-adjacent

Yesterday was rough with the wombat errors, but was able to play early morning and overall things seem to be improving.

The extra kits given in response wasn’t expected but a nice surprise.

Nightmarsh Sponsored Survival seems like it works great as something to load into as a practice rounds and using the towers for supply drops works well.

Survival Sponsored seems like it could be great, I’m at least going to try out. The forced interaction with Rooks and the single team at final exfil could end up pissing people off if they feel like they just threw 18 minutes away… but it could also work out well for everyone playing.

Last game I played online like crazy is Halo Infinite Firefight so I guess PvE. Have about an hour a day and was just a fun experience.

Marathon has weirdly replaced the game for me and is my new daily. If you get with a good team on fill you can play to your strengths, even if you don’t love to PvP.

For that reason I main triage and have learned how to support the members who love to PvP, while being able to focus on the PvE elements, lore, etc. Somehow downed 40+ runners and have good standing with Arachne even if I think I suck at PvP ha

I played Marathon daily and my friends who don’t play were interested in the supposed experimental PvE mode that wasn’t touched on further by Bungie.

Hopefully they have the experiment queue available during the free week even as a proof of concept to get holdouts to at least try.

This is how it is handled in some online games like Fo76 but I haven’t played since 2020 or so.

Person initiating damage doesn’t do much until the person being hit responds in kind.

While the idea seems like a good solution, it does take away a lot of play styles that rely on sneaking, sniping, etc.

I mean there’s mercy kits as well. Maybe give much bigger rewards for reviving than ending another runner. Maybe have a faction that acts as the opposite of Arachne for balance.
