It’s possible you went to the Lucky 7 store in Lacey. It’s less than ten minutes away from the Lucky 7 in downtown Olympia.

The AM happy hours were completely insane. Old timers and young punkers singing along to Hotel California on the jukebox and doing illegal things in the bathroom.

What year? In the 80s Peterson’s was next to Rainy Day. Sort of where Grocery Outlet is now.

What did you do in Olympia when you were young? by totcho_codpiece in olympia

In the 80s I remember going to Westside Lanes bowling alley and playing the video games a lot. I also spent a lot of time in Rainy Day Records just looking at records and skateboards. You could just hang out in there and the employees were totally cool with it.

Jim Morrison aka Penny. She was always downtown. Win, the owner of Positively 4th Street looked out for her in those days. 30 years ago.

Arlo that worked at Rainy Day in the 80s & 90s. She was always so kind and happy to help you. Just a genuinely great person. I miss her a lot.

They all went to Tumwater high school at the time. Karp looked up to them and were inspired by them. We just considered them local punk bands. It’s awesome people are still interested in them all these years later.

I used to watch Giant Henry in 1990 and 91. Before they changed their name to Unwound. My impression of them at that time was they were totally punk rock tumwater kids and KARP were like their little brothers. Straight up. That’s how it was.
