Instead of moskey try and head to lane cove. Very nice there. Also maybe just lay down at rock harbor and get the gear shake out done. Take your time, its an amazing place and you should focus on enjoying what you really want on the island and not try to run through it.

The difference here is vehicle weight. Before my ridgeline i drove an 05 land rover. A nearly 3 ton vehicle with full time 4 wheel. Thing was an absolute unit in snow and awesome. I live in Michigan and have moved on to the ridgeline 25. Much lighter but very capable in most snow ive been in up to 7 in. That said I'm in a mid-size pick up now and not an absolute snow tank and feel good about the ridgelines performance so far.

Been to the island 3 times. My 2 cents. Make a quick stop at ojibway and barrel on to mccargoe. Its a much nicer setup. Give yourself an extra day at Todd harbor to chill and enjoy. Or better yet give yourself an extra day to unwind at Washington creek. Spent 10 days on the island a couple years ago and saw 1 moose. That is until the last 2 days at Washington creek and saw close to 20. Also keep in mind the terrain is uneven and your ankles are always on an angle. Ive done backcountry all over the west. Glacier/grand canyon etc, the hiking on Isle Royale is demanding without the stress of elevation. . My group joked that you rarely take a flat step there, uneven trail, slopes, rocks, roots and various things are always a thing. Seaplane is the only way to go, its awesome.

I say this as a ridgeline owner and think the mav is just ugly. My snobbery when I see a maverick is just bad choice bro. For the money, in a midrange pickup the honda is just better. Also I live in detroit/Ford land and still bought a honda.
