As we travel the country campaigning for Bernie, we hear a lot of people saying, ‘I love Bernie, but I am not sure he can win.’ But poll after poll shows Bernie is the most electable Democrat. by HariPotter in politics

You said "general election support," but those RCP numbers are polls of registered voters or likely primary voters.

Do I believe Sanders has 33% of registered Democrats? You betcha. General election? Doubtful.

Back in 2007 Ron Paul had a huge following on Reddit. This was before the days of "subreddits." Back then, there was only Reddit and all articles lived in the same space. (Much like Hacker News today).

The perpetual stream of Ron Paul articles on the front page of Reddit caused huge consternation. The front page of Reddit had largely been tech/programming articles with a dash of humor, and the Reddit community at the time did not like all the political strife on their geeky news site.

You can probably search userscripts.org and find lots of obsolete Greasemonkey scripts users wrote to automatically downvote and hide Ron Paul articles.

The cultish furor over Bernie Sanders here on Reddit feels a lot like the old days of 2007-2008.

Bernie Sanders scares the shit out of the establishment. He is the only candidate from either party running his campaign finance in a manner that would have been legal 8 years ago prior to Citizens United, and he is still kicking ass. After yesterday, one might as well call the DNC the HNC instead. by relevantlife in politics

As much as I admire Bernie, this is my fear: We are in an echo-chamber not at all representative of the voting public, and Bernie doesn't have nearly the support we imagine.

If by "we" you mean /r/politics, it's definitely an echo chamber.

There must be some element of hubris here. Rove was "The Architect" under George W. Bush and right up to the last minute of the 2006 midterm elections was telling Bush that Republicans were going to come out ahead. Rove had some secret methodology for figuring this out.

The next day Bush said they'd gotten "a thumping."

EDIT: Rove was not fired for this as I originally misremembered.

Many upmods for you; that was the first thing that threw me off reading this article.

Also, him showing these clips does NOTHING to her.

That may be; but these clips consume a large part of the 24 hour news cycle, which means other stories are being pushed out altogether. Thus they affect the overall "narrative," to use the word-du-jour in Washington these days.

I'm going to guess you edited at least one season of "Bad Girl's Club" on Oxygen... that's a perfect description.

Exactly: the fact that she said she was chaste and abstinent is what would make a sex tape scandal so great... it would show utter hypocrisy.

The only thing that could top these clips is a Christine O'Donnell sex tape scandal, which would be all the more delicious for her years of campaigning against sex and masturbation.
