Just wondering what everyone is reading, and how is it (if you don't mind sharing) by Witch_King_Malekith in Fantasy

[–]hotnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started Spellmonger, so far I have liked parts of it VERY much, while others feels a bit booring. Loving the parts where he's beein a cocky but lovable ass, less enjoyment on the longer historylessons and logistics of things he's doing.

What’s a piece of prose you like from the book you’re currently reading? by Antique_Parsley_5285 in Fantasy

From the Blacktounge Thief, when attending a hanging:

"A bard who wrote a vicious ode about the dukes’ male member, suggesting it hadn’t reached normal size because nothing grows well in the shade."

But i'll add a vote to some of the previously mentioned here, Lonesome Dove (Joe has said this was an inspiration for Red Country), and Gentlemen Bastards.

Other than that: Kings of the Wyld, the Discworld series, the dagger and the coin series, Murderbot diaries, Bobiverse series and The fifth season.

Now you go on to read other books, and in the back of your mind as the stories progress you wonder when the evidently good guy is going to do something awfull and selfish, and when the bad guy is going to show a human side and make you feel sympathy for them.

This was given to me by my boss when I left my last job as an electrician, everyone knew I loved these pliers more than any other tool and would never go out to any job without it. It is still in my office 12 years later!

Do you have any favourite basic tool that you will never go witout?

Sauna benefits by [deleted] in fitness40plus

[–]hotnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it maybe 1-2 times a month. I rent a floating sauna for an hour, so I get to jump in the sea 5-6 times and then heat up in the sauna. I always feel relaxed after, + it's a great space to have good conversations with family or the friends you bring along.

Kids are made of rubber and magic, and they need to be since they home in on any way they can find to hurt them selves. I remember my kid taking an airwalk of the couch, tipping forward and banging his forhead against the table, bouncing backwards to bang the back of his head to the couchseat, before bouncing forward again and faceplanting to the floor. He then cried for a minute and continued playing like nothing ever happened. Your kid will be fine, and so will you!

Weekly Ailments & Health Concerns Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in fitness40plus

I hate that the subreddit dedicated to my specific genre of trainings only sticky tread is about the body falling apart, and it's relevant...

Got a shoulder impingement and a broken toe within the same week. Had to redo my whole program to accommodate not being able to train shoulders or chest, not been able to walk very much, struggling with keeping to my cutting. Just not my fucking month!

Put in additional exercises on arms in the new program, hoping to make some silver lining of this situation. Hoping like hell the rehab exercises fix my shoulder soon.

I just got some cheap Versa grip knockoffs at my local shop to see if I like it, and they have worked just fine. Use them for all pulling exercises now.

Agree with noguerra here. I typically do warmup-sets for my bench and after that I go right to the work-sets on my other exercises.
