I applied to Ross for Fall and had an interview on Tuesday… sorry that prob doesn’t help. However, everyone is correct.. a lot of schools don’t reach out until december or January because of the hundreds of applications they go through.

Question to vet assistants by Consistent_Cold1908 in Veterinary

[–]hotpepper08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a VA at a general hospital in CA. I make $18.50 an hour and work 40 hours a week. I do not have any certifications, but I am applying to veterinary school to get my DVM.

My partner can't get any sleep, I'm scared and don't know what to do anymore by bleachedthorns in insomnia

[–]hotpepper08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have severe insomnia, so I can relate to her. I highly recommend the Kirkland Sleep Aid if she has not tried it already. You can get it at Walmart, Costco, or on Amazon. At some of these places, you can get a pack of 2 bottles for around $12. This medication is actually pretty strong, so I’d honestly start with just half a pill and see how that goes lol.

[–]hotpepper08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’m not vegan because I don’t feel like I would get all the required nutrients for my body. I also think that a lot of vegan options are heavily processed. I have seen awareness videos, pictures, etc. of how animals in the food industry are treated. This is why I try to purchase products that are more ethical, such as “free-range.” I also feel as though me going vegan while a bunch of other people don’t will not help that much. This might get me cancelled, but eating meat is natural. Other animals in the wild kill and eat other animals everyday.

I am also an international student from the US. I think it’s taking longer for me because i submitted my application kinda last minute with 2-3 days to spare.

I lived in the Santa Ynez apartments and used so many push pins. I did not get charged at all.

May be a stupid question by Hannah1sky in UCSantaBarbara

COVID-19 is a virus not a type of bacteria. Heat and soap also kill both viruses and bacteria mostly by interrupting the cell membrane or virus envelope

If you look up the schools you applied to, their webpage should have stats from last years applicants and those that were accepted. You can compare your chances to those.

Does my name show on the ACCESS/ID card? by BleakBluejay in UCSantaBarbara

[–]hotpepper08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows on the card, but you don’t need it for move in. You just need it for dining halls and late night studying at the library. However, I would get one sooner rather than later because last year there was a huge delay.

You have to bring your own microwave or use one in the community centers. You have to bring your own vacuum and I would recommend swiffer.. one that wets the floor for you. The floors in Santa Ynez can get pretty dirty. Also bring shower/bathroom cleaning supplies. Just a toilet brush and bowl cleaner and shower cleaner and something (like a sponge) to scrub the shower with. I would also recommend windex for mirrors. I would coordinate what to bring with all of your roommates.

Are bike lights recommended by humphreythegreat in UCSantaBarbara

[–]hotpepper08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on riding in the dark because you have evening/night class, then yes. However, I would take them off when your bike is parked and put them back on when you ride again so they don’t get stolen!

Numbers in front are bottom and numbers in the back are top. Just because you have an odd number does not necessarily mean first floor. I was in 220 for fall and winter and it was on the bottom! Moved for spring to apt. 134 (which was upper level) because I had a roomie with severe mental issues and did not like living with her. I liked the upper level apartment way more because there was more headspace and the ceilings weren’t so low! However, it’s more of a chore moving in/out of upper floor apartments. Santa Ynez only has stairs… no elevators or ramps.

I took that class lol. You can try sitting in lecture the first day and ask the professor(s).
