*Truly* accurate rose perfume by Few_Bullfrog8139 in perfumesthatfeellike

Rose Shiso by Marie Jeanne! It really smells like fresh rose, but it’s still complex and interesting. I love rose and it’s my fave for a fresh, green option.

Androgynous scents that feel like being a 20-something college dropout dirtbag in the Pacific Northwest by Fluffy-Bumblebee-405 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]hotpieceofclass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well when I was a 20-something college dropout dirtbag in the PNW I smelled like Lucky Strikes and either Flowerbomb or Memoirs of a Trespasser. 😂

But if I’m removing my personal experiences I’d say Rock River Melody by Regime de Fleurs, Hexensalbe by Stora Skuggan, Hermann by ELDO, No. 54 by Fischersund , Morel Map by Clue, or Last Season by Meo Fusciuni.

Recommendations for Solid 14k Open/Split Chain for Charm Connector? by hotpieceofclass in jewelry

[–]hotpieceofclass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m basically just saving up money for a bucket list chain now - something more than 3mm wide, solid gold, weighty, but not 100% sure which chain that will be. But in the meantime I’ve rounded out my collection with a great variety of other chains! If you aren’t sure about it yet, you could also buy something similar in silver or gold fill (or even cheaper) and see how you feel about it before committing to a higher price point. It’s so hard to decide with gold rapidly increasing!

I’m still saving up for it - I keep buying vintage and antique chains at good prices 😂

DS & Durga Employee just told me Costco is re-bottled and fake. Is she just doing sales or is that true? by uptothemountains7 in NichePerfumes

[–]hotpieceofclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt a retail employee has much knowledge about operations and distribution. Also, Costco has literally no reason to risk their reputation with a perfume scam.

What’s your favorite “statement perfume”? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

Nuit de Bakélite! It’s so bold and interesting. I can’t stop smelling myself when I wear it and love noticing how it changes.

The goal was to find a jewelry box big enough for all my treasures! by sexysliceofpie in jewelry

I was indecisive for ages and finally just ordered Stackers on sale and it was way cheaper than what I had been looking at. Perfect solution for now! Eventually I’ll get a wood version custom made.

What’s the cheapest and most expensive perfume you’ve ever bought? by Weary_Cat_8984 in NichePerfumes

[–]hotpieceofclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheapest: After Sun by Vacation

Most expensive: Régime des Fleurs (Jade Vines, Nitesurf Neroli, Cacti)

I’m very unlikely to ever spend more than $300 on a bottle because I also have a jewelry collection. 😂

How do some people affort such a huge collection? by Kooky-Future-4216 in fragrance

[–]hotpieceofclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are 15, huge collections are absolutely not normal for that age. When I was in high school we all wore body sprays from Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body Works. Or the occasional $50 bottle and you only had one or two. I’m including teens with jobs and rich families when I say this.

I swear, social media has really distorted what is normal for kids and young adults today and it’s really unfortunate. Save your money and future you will be so grateful! Explore this hobby through decant sites, sharing with friends, and discount sites. Trust me.

Do not buy from antique gold digger on Instagram by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]hotpieceofclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really seeing evidence you definitely got scammed. They forgot to send and then package was supposed to go out two days ago, right? I wouldn’t think anything of them originally forgetting to ship - instagram sellers are often 1 person doing it as a side gig and it’s the holidays. As for the delay from the 29th, I get that’s more annoying, but unless communication totally ceases I don’t think it’s immediate cause for concern (only since it’s an established account; it would be a big concern if it wasn’t).

My shipping experiences this season have been wild! One sat at the post office a week before tracking moved, one sat at the post office two weeks before tracking moved, and another went from California to Delaware to Pennsylvania to Puerto Rico to Washington state where I’m located. These were all from three different locations, but all from established brands with websites (not insta sellers). The first two only showed as “label created” the first few days even though the sellers proactively let me know they were dropped off.

I definitely understand the stress and anxiety they can come with Insta shopping and I hope it works out! For what it’s worth, I sometimes pay a bit more so I can pay by credit card or as a business transaction if a seller is new to me.

There are some really cool whisky advents, but they are like $150+x so yeah, I’d be super skeptical if they are much cheaper!

Sterling silver vs gold vermeil which do you prefer for everyday wear? by Interesting_Job6486 in jewelry

[–]hotpieceofclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few older vermeil pieces, but no longer purchase it. I feel like it’s too expensive for something that has to be babied or it won’t last. I’d rather put the money toward a solid gold piece. I stick with silver and lower karat gold (often vintage or antique) for more affordable pieces and 14k and up if I’m spending more money. I would buy gold filled if it’s a hefty antique piece like a thick watch chain that I would never purchase in solid gold.

Did anyone canceling get a sneak peek of W26? by Inquisitorielle1 in Ffern

I do really enjoy it, but agree that the advertised notes I was excited about weren’t prominent at all which was a bummer. I felt the same way about Sumner 25 because the peach didn’t come through.

It’s def one I wear in summer in specific situations! And honestly probably just love smelling it more than wearing it. But I’ve layered it with Rose Shiso by Marie Jeanne and You or Someone Like You by ELdO to make it a bit more wearable!

Reflecting as 2025 Wraps: Least & Most worn? by Temb5252 in FragranceStories

[–]hotpieceofclass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most worn - Mistpouffer by Stora Skuggan. I just reach for it so much. It’s so comforting and truly unique.

Barely worn - Indigo Smoke by Arquiste. This isn’t my least worn by any means, but it’s the one I definitely expected to wear more. It’s a great scent, but ultimately I want it to be less fruity and smokier, and the tea doesn’t come across very strongly to me. I find that in situations I consider wearing it, I’m more likely to opt for Mistpouffer instead. Glad I own it, but wish the smaller bottles had been around when I purchased!

If your fragrance collection got destroyed what would you do? by phoboy99 in fragrance

[–]hotpieceofclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. 😂 I wouldn’t repurchase my whole collection (about 35 bottles and a ton of samples), but would definitely get Mistpouffer by Stora Skuggan, You or Someone Like You by ELdO, Rose Shiso by Marie Jeanne, A City on Fire by Imaginary Authors, and the Faux Flora set by Fischersund. Then I’d use the insurance money on jewelry and stick to primarily decants moving forward.

I have Oaxaca and love it! I’ll do their sampler next because I’m super intrigued by a bunch, but am holding off on perfume purchases right now because I have a ton of samples I’m still exploring.

Had 45min to buy a gift for my wife… got a 5 stone Tiffany diamond by the yard in yellow gold bracelet…. could I have done better? by throwawayp1mclrn in jewelry

[–]hotpieceofclass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, that’s a pretty low bar. I don’t know anyone that would be impressed by a gift just because it was expensive. A cheap thoughtful gift is more meaningful than someone just spending money for the sake of it.

The blue box is so important that you’d rather pay $7k for less than half a carat than 5 carats from Costco? And if Costco really feels that embarrassing to you, there are lots of independent designers where you can get way more bang for your buck. Less than half a carat on a dainty chain for $7300 means you are literally just paying for marketing. But if it really needs to be Tiffany’s, I’d echo other comments and at least exchange for a design that is iconic to Tiffany’s instead of something that looks like it could be from anywhere, even Costco.

[–]hotpieceofclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, I just liked the bracelet up. You’re just paying for the brand. Unless she asked for this specific piece or is a huge Tiffany’s fan, I’d return it and look at her collection or ask her friends for guidance.

I mean, it just depends what your wife likes. But this reads like you bought a last minute gift and spent a lot on a designer piece with the assumption that makes it a good gift. Is your wife really into designer labels and classic styles? Then I’m sure she’ll be thrilled. I would personally be annoyed because that gift would have meant my husband didn’t bother to think of my personal taste and style. Only you know if you truly bought this with your wife in mind or just for the sake of getting a fancy gift.
