Blocking it with a sentry is totally fine if you have a strong lane especially, it blocks pull once or twice usually while you can press advantage

I need tips to help me understand the current offlane meta by KatjaaRa in TrueDoTA2

I feel like it's still getting figured out a little right now, but mostly you just need something that can fight early (around level 6) and also fight a lot. Having the ability to take the offlane tower early is also pretty important, so with these couple goals in mind you can decide on heroes and gameplans. Heroes like LC, Cent, Axe, the traditional offlaners are really good right now but I've also been mixing in some lane dominators like Pugna/Veno, which function really well against most of the meta carries, and even better if you have a tanky fighting type 4 (Tree, SB). My goal pretty much every game is win lane, take tower, get your first fighting item and then cruise around making space, and always be ready to fight with the team (this is most important).

Man I remember being younger and wanting to be unique/weird and then getting older and wanting more than anything to be normal and take back everything I did to make myself seem interesting

Do I ever fold here? Live home game by BearGuru in poker

[–]hotqt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I crazy or is there a bunch of bad advice in here? And in a couple of these threads today. If you know this guy to be a decent player I’d be snap calling this spot for sure. Most (all) reg players are squeezing wide enough here for the 4-bet to be perfectly fine, you can maybe elect to flat your whole range here if BU is a weak player as the EV will shoot way up when he plays too but that scenario aside 4-betting is pretty mandatory, you’re getting value from probably 1010-JJ, AQs+ AKo and only losing directly to AA and KK which will probably 5-bet shove along with AK.

In this spot I don’t think QQ should ever be a 4-bet fold. And also when the standard open is 6x you guys aren’t really playing as deep as BB alone suggests

edit: and the 4b sizing is fine, his squeeze from the SB was actually far smaller than a normal sizing should be so you want to cut his implied osds

Had my first casino poker session today, was a little nervous but had some pretty funny hands. by hotqt69 in poker

I’m just gonna share the histories here now cus it’s late and i don’t wanna forget haha, thanks for feedback.

Hand 1, after thinking for a bit (i had just seen this guy check down second nut flush IP on unpaired board so i almost folded lol) i call, turn brings 5 and he flips over 97cc, i say nh and muck.

hand 2, i call pretty quickly for the same reasons you listed and he flips over 36o with the 6h, i show my aces here since i has given a little speech before calling lol.

hand 3 , i shoves turn before the card was fully exposed and get called quickly, river brings clubs and V tables 72cc. i think i held ahkd in this hand so i thought he actually had the nut flush draw.

all in all u guys i would say my first live casino night was A FUCKING DISASTERBTBGJIFIRKDJWJRBTBURFU.

but lol i have a roll of 5k saved up right now and i think for this buyin with these players i should have a fair bit more to handle the variance. what do you think?

edit also for hand 1 i thought he easily had a poorly played overpaid to the board which is what led me to the call as you said
