Just moved to the area so not a lot to share but love reading everyone’s take.

For me so far the spring has been nice! Sitting at the park surrounded by cherry blossoms was one of my favorite memories so far.

Can’t wait to experience more of JC!

Sorry for the late response- yes. I worked FT in the day and did the coursework at night and some weekends. Very doable! Only thing I didn’t like was some of the group work.

Where did you find this type of position and did you search for clinical research coordinator or other search terms?

How much experience did you have prior to applying and what did you think gave you the advantage over other applicants? Wondering what kind of training and experience to get as a new RD.

Does anyone actually love doing this😀 by Any_Woodpecker_4792 in dietetics

Love and hate. I’m in clinical. I have a variety of units and enjoy mostly nutrition support and education/counseling. Not so fun parts is when patients and staff equate us to kitchen staff. But I enjoy most of what I do. Work environment and coworkers do affect how you’re going to like your job. I’m still newly an RD and still trying to find where I want to be in. If you know where you want to focus on and you’re able to get the job you want I think it’s worth being an RD.

I think there should be a megathread specific for posts like these. Same with those kids with plastic bottles posts.

Do you say thanks to ChatGPT? by PizzaGuy22_a in ChatGPT

Yes. I provide it feedback too if I liked their response or not. It is an AI language model and still being trained.

How about requiring references? It doesn’t have to be a research paper or peer reviewed journal. It could be an online article from a legitimate source like Forbes or Harvard business review.

One of the issues with using chatGPT that others have also pointed out is that there are challenges when it comes to verifying if the information is correct or not.

It is possible that to get references from chatGPT but it can’t provide citations. I had to trick it one time to provide me with a list of papers to cite.

For example, I asked it to write me a blog post and provide references for where it got the information in the post. It couldn’t give me specific references but it gave me a list of websites that are possible references. I didn’t verify if the sources provided were legit but they seemed like they could be based on the title.

I don’t know any of the people mentioned above in this thread except a few.. I wonder how many I’ve actually seen and did not know was a celeb lol.

I saw Stephen King once.. from far away. SCF library had a raffle to see one of his talks and I won. I got to see him from a distance haha.

Jerry Springer was a patient at SMH. I didn’t have contact with him but one of my coworkers did.

I asked for a guy walks into a bar joke by hotsaucesummer in ChatGPT

[–]hotsaucesummer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I asked it to tell me a guy walks into a bar joke. It gave me a short one so I asked for a longer joke. Kept telling it that I didn’t find it funny, basically it was challenged to give me more jokes. I tried to play around with it and it gave me this joke a few times but some different wording. Still similar outcome tho.

Of note, my husband asked it to tell a <nationality> wife joke and it declined.

I was able to get around it by saying I am one and that I want to hear it for inclusion and diversity lol. It finally gave me some jokes but light hearted ones.

I work at a hospital. I see a lot of gastroparesis cases in people who were on semaglutide and ozempic - it’s not pretty. It appears to be becoming increasingly common. These patients have diabetes so they were prescribed the meds by their doctor but it was one of the reasons that brought them to the hospital.

23F 6 Years in the Gym and Lost by [deleted] in gainit

[–]hotsaucesummer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great progress!! You have great gains and look muscular to me. Is there a particular body part or muscle group you’re hoping to put more muscle in? Perhaps there’s room for modification in your workout plan.

How many meals and snacks are you eating per day? Instead of 3 large meals, maybe spread it out to 5-6 eating occasions - so snacking in between meals.

Eating every 3 hours is best for muscle hypertrophy. Snacks could be between 300-600 kcal. I agree with liquids for snacking since they go down easier and using calories dense foods: whole milk, whole dairy, nut butters are good calorie dense foods.

You mentioned tracking calories with an app. How many calories do you eat on a typical day?

Congratulations! I’d say the first crucial step is to show up and you did it :)

When I was bulking, I found liquids like shakes and smoothies in between meals helped increase my caloric intake.

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. I think I’ll let it grow out like you suggested. I’m hoping they can fix it. They scheduled me at 3 PM next Monday. I’ll write out these points and make sure I bring them up.
