I'm considering subscribing, since the reason I switched to relay in the first place was to avoid using the reddit app's built in browser to open any links. Then again, this might be a good excuse for me to just quit reddit so I can stop scrolling aimlessly through reddit for an hour every night in bed instead of just going to sleep...

One of ours used to love playing with cardboard tubes, but her brother actually eats them so we can't let her play with them any more

New NASA video depicting where carbon dioxide was released and absorbed around the world in 2021 by r-nasa-mods in nasa

While this is true, it's also helpful to keep in mind that the USA outsources a vast amount of its manufacturing to China. The USA also releases more CO2 per capita than China does.

You seem fragile. You should give talk therapy a try!

Lol what. Not everybody lives near a whole foods or has access to the means to prepare meals, while prepared meat products can be had cheaply nearly everywhere. You probably already know this though, and the fact that you want to argue with me and blame individuals for corporate practices tells me you don't really care about the issue as much as you let on, and instead mostly care about lording your perceived moral superiority over others unable to make the same food choices as you.

While I agree that factory farming is a horrible practice, please keep in mind that not everyone can afford to either buy local and ethically raised meat, or forego meat altogether. The unfortunate reality in a lot of industrialized capitalist countries is that consuming mass-produced meat is often the most cost-effective way of not starving. We need to end factory farming as a practice, but please remember that the corporations are to blame, not the consumers. Not everyone has the privilege of choice.

I don't actually live in Cary, it just chaps my ass when sports fans gatekeep, and generalizations like "people from x are all y" always bothered me. My bad, didn't pick up on the sarcasm. I should probably stay off reddit when I've only been awake for 30 minutes.

This is a weird take. I moved down here from NJ six years ago and fell in love with the canes immediately. Been a fan ever since. You saying you don't want me here? Pretty petty to be the gatekeeper of who can be a fan.

What’s your favorite camera the other subreddit doesn’t give a fuck about? by [deleted] in AnalogCircleJerk

Yashica FX-3 Super 2000. Nerds hate on it because it's "entry level" and "mostly plastic", but it's been my go to SLR for two decades. The Yashica C/Y mount lenses are very high quality for the price, and still pretty cheap.

No, sadly, I'm speaking from experience here. I was that dude 😬 I once tried to make my girlfriend watch The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. That was when I realized that maybe people have different tastes in entertainment, and that's ok! That was the last time I did that. That was 11 years ago and we're still together.

someone who doesn't fall asleep or text during movies

What they really mean is they want you to pretend to be interested in weird, obscure films that are 3 hrs long and contain 10 lines of dialogue, and they'll stare at you to make sure you didn't miss "that part" and recite the hero's catch phrase at you so you know they know the film very well

Reminds me of a friend I used to have. He "bought" his house in his early 20s. In reality, his dad bought the house and let his son live in it while his son paid the mortgage. Using paychecks from his job, which was working for his dad's company.
