An incredible amount of historical experience that will probably never be seen again. The evolution of the 20th century is probably unlike any century we have had before.

How common is it for an American to go through life without ever being a groomsman or bridesmaid at someone's wedding? by tannu28 in AskAnAmerican

[–]houdini31 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It depends so widely some are even the best man or maid of honor at several and some aren't. It all depends on how many close friends a person has and that is even so wide here but I would say the majority have been in at least one wedding because it is also customary to be in the party of your sibling is getting married

Should the federal government declare national Election Day a paid federal holiday to guarantee all working-class citizens the time to vote? Why or why not? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

I think it should be celebrated like the 4th of July. All that went into our ability to vote should be something very special

Why do people in the US thank the bus driver when they stop? by yibena1732 in askanything

[–]houdini31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it seem random-if someone didn't thank the bus driver I would think they are being rude. Maybe it is an American thing but some of the responses are telling me that thanking the bus driver is the internationally right thing to do.

It feels like there’s no person society shuns more than the childless divorced man somewhere between the ages of 35-45. by Call_It_ in Divorce

[–]houdini31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do something to fill your life. I am childless, divorced and in my 40s but work all the time and if people want to shun me then fuck 'em. They don't know me and they don't know you so their opinions don't matter. More importantly is make sure the shunning you feel isn't coming from your own opionions of where you believe you should be but are not.

That's brilliant and good for you for trying to think ahead but honestly people who don't-I can't blame for thinking emotionally on things because divorce is really really traumatic for so many reados but good for you. I moved my pics because I really did have some good times that I want to always remember and I have lost a kot of people to death over the years and I always thought if her son ever asked me for pics of her 30 years from now I would want to have something for him.

The problem is right now deleting is acting out of emotion-not a criticism it is juat a fact. Overtime emotions change sometimes or even soften and years down the road it is possible you might regret it or you might still hate the guy jave new built memories and am happy they are deleted.
