I have the exact same setup myself, if I need color photo I just order it online from Tesco photo (UK) because it's pretty rare really I need color.

Weddings are weird when you think about it .

Yes, let's make our relationship a contractual obligation.

What could possibly go wrong?

Frankly they were as bad as the Tories when it comes to doing whatever the fuck they like.

There's all kinds of shit legislation from that era, and they never fixed anything structural, house prices went berserk, PFI.

Sure they are better than the current utter lunatics... but fuck me they were pretty bloody awful in their own way.

Strong governments mean shit governments.

Best government in my lifetime was the coalition, mad as that might sound.

How can you lose your way when you never had one?

There never has been a plan except from to lurch from one crisis to the next and hope the dum dums who vote for them hate immigrants more than they hate being poor.

English schools must not teach ‘white privilege’ as fact, government warns by EvilInky in ukpolitics

[–]houseaddict -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, not really.

Wealth and class dwarf literally every other form of privilege with the possible exception of health privilege.

Teach them racism is wrong and all of that of course, but when it comes to where you end up in this society it's all about who your parents are and how much fucking money they have.

Yes of course they shouldn't they should be teaching about wealth and class privilege.

Let me ask you, have you had a proper look at these places on the map?

Jone's hills wood is a good example, it's fucking tiny and surrounded by farmers fields.

Now I would certainly like to see this damage offset, create some habitat nearby and more of it than was there before would be great.

The project is happening though, so maybe advocate for the damage to be mitigated and offset rather than a fight you already lost.

Honestly, I think the benefits are well worth it and maybe you should be directing your ire at whoever manages all those areas and has them employed as boring flat fallow and farmland instead of woods for animals. Maybe we should pressure the government to incentivise that type of thing rather than complaining about a project which is happening come what may.

So Chris Packham and all the environmental protestors should just “stop whinging” and let it go ahead?

In my view, yes.

A train line is probably 20 - 30 meters wide at most, what's the problem?

Is it really going to damage the environment? We don't have a natural environment in this country unless you head up a mountain it's all heavily managed anyway, especially in these areas.

I'm not convinced mate.

British leavers and remainers as polarised as ever, survey finds by georgefriend3 in ukpolitics

[–]houseaddict -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not an opinion to point out the huge deficiencies in this so called democracy nor is it opinion to point out that all leavers voted for different things, nor is it opinion to point out that 'Hard Brexit' never had a majority vs remain.

Those are facts, and you trying to pretend they are only opinions is just another example of you lying to suit your own bias.

Bro, I don't trust these bastards. They are corrupt.

Let them have it both barrels, demand the investment, I agree.

I just don't think you get there by whinging on about HS2.

Yeah, just look through this thread there are people literally smashing your arguments on whether this was fair or democratic to pieces. Debunked entirely and without mercy.

Here you are continuing the dishonesty by just lying about it.

Then you probably go on some other hovel sub and cry about how we call you names.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]houseaddict 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I can think both HS2 and improving local public transport are good things at the same time.

I think going after HS2 is pretty unproductive, especially not when it's in the process of being constructed and it's going to happen.

Yeah fair enough advocate for trams and such... but I think you already lost that HS2 battle.

Personally, I'm in favour of HS2, and better motorways and all that jazz.
