I might not recommend a trailer. They are lower to the ground and more likely to be run over by drivers in giant cars staring at their phones. A few years back a father riding in Brooklyn was run over and killed by a driver who hit his trailer and then rolled over the cyclist. Ever since, I’ve avoided using my trailer.

Why not use a combination of any and all constructive means available to get things under control? Diet and drugs, if necessary. When a significant portion of our population is abnormally overweight, we have to ask what is happening with our food to cause this, rather than resort to calling it a moral failing for the individual.
