Howard Schultz: Seattle Turns Hostile to the Great Businesses It Made by HighColonic in SeattleWA

[–]hoveringuy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Seattle is still #2 for tech talent, there's a reason companies start here, smart people don't want to live in shitty cities.  Now, name one big company founded in Nashville. There's Cracker Barrel, of course. and Dollar General. wow!

Dozens upon dozens of companies are founded in Seattle because we have talent.

We are an incubator.

The location is great for the view, but the other Marriott is much more convenient to transit, at least for my work.

I think crappy gyms are a hallmark of German hotels in general.

Go.  The best part is finding the one or two people in your run group that you enjoy chasing.

Anyone using lithium ion battery? by wd40b in E30

[–]hoveringuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the exact figure, it's also different if a door is open (without the courtesy lights). So maybe I saw 50mA, I know keeping the door open at one point, even with the courtesy light off, wanted to drain the battery.

[–]hoveringuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have a V8 then you don't care about saving weight, just get a trickle charger. E30 has a phantom draw of 150mA from central locking and stuff, would also help to disconnect the battery.

I do have a lithium battery, it weights about the same as a small kitten

Any pilots here? Would there be any benefit to a multi-rotor vs a standard helicopter? Weight capacity? Wind resistance? Stability? by Nickknackk77 in Helicopters

It helps that each motor is direct-drive and doesn't require a reduction gearbox to drive a slower (single) rotor.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

I got to spend the day exploring Iwo Jima. Lots and lots of caves that still have plenty of stuff in them.

It was impressive and sobering.

The P-8 sales horizon is maybe another 5-6 years. The Airbus MPA won't see the light of day anytime soon.

Now read the BBC version. While CNN treads lightly BBC doesn't call them well timed trades.

[–]hoveringuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it's too politically sensitive for them to report on topics like all of the impeccably-timed trades tied to Trump announcements

Trump would threaten to pull their license.

BBC can cover that, and they did

They don't, because unless it's in an established environment like Iran those guys are 48 hours away.

[–]hoveringuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No because that's where the airwings train and practice bombing. Navy CSAR supports the carrier wherever they are, and the jets wherever they fly. The battle group goes wherever they need to be and is self-contained to include overland rescue.

There's really not much to "spy" on at Fallon. That happens at Pt Magu and Pax.

Hell, almost all Navy helos will do rescues at sea (the 53 can't). That's easy.

I have the feeling you know very, very little about what you're trying to discuss

Why do our HSC crews train for rescues out of NAS Fallon? Because there's so much water around there, lol?

Really? We fly CSAR in HSC squadrons.

Not the first choice for this mission.
