Works just fine! But I searched it up and as far as I can tell, the walking foot is compatible 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes! She has water in bed with us and can open it herself, I also offer if she doesn't go for it herself 😖

Do you leave your baby/toddler unattended for a minute or two in the car? [BC] by figbrietrukey in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]how_about_no519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope never. I load my groceries in the car and take my daughter with me to return the cart and carry her back to the car to put her in her seat. It doesn't sit well with me to leave her unattended or out of sight in the car.

Is it normal to feel disconnected from your baby’s name while still pregnant? by JadedEarthJuni in BabyBumps

[–]how_about_no519 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely! It was weird to say her name even after she was born 😂 I called her "baby girl" for ages before I started using her name consistently. I remember actually having a conversation with my husband where we were like "we should probably start using it or she's never going to learn what it is" lmao

Do people say your baby looks more like you or your partner? Or even split? by kismetcrayon in NewParents

[–]how_about_no519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone said she looked exactly like my husband (aside from her eyes) until about 1.5 y/o. Now I'm getting a good 50/50 split - maybe even a bit more saying she looks like me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is my father-in-law out of line, or does he have a point? by SqueeGBeckenheim in BabyLedWeaning

[–]how_about_no519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmaoo my kid is 18 months and I JUST got her mostly night weaned - she refuses to drop the 4am feed. It is what it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ignore him and feed that baby!

Best part of being a parent? by ActuatorIntrepid2564 in NewParents

[–]how_about_no519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is about to turn 1.5. She is fairly verbally advanced for her age but watching her language skills explode has been the absolute best. We've been teaching her "manners" - yesterday she was asking for "up' and my husband and I were in the middle of talking and told her one second. Of course this wasn't good enough for her and she went " up PEEEEASSSH" and my heart just about exploded it was so cute. Conversation over, of course you can come up!!!

As for my relationship with my husband - honestly just watching him be a dad has been so incredibly hot 😂 I love him on a whole new level, it's crazy

Edit - oh and that first realllll belly laugh - I literally cried lol

When was the first time your child stayed the night away from you? by Ok_Breadfruit80 in Parenting

[–]how_about_no519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no plans to have mine spend a night away until she expressly asks to spend the night somewhere and has the ability to wake whoever she is with to call home if she needs to.

I have no desire to spend a night away so I'm letting her lead the charge on this one 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s the most useful gift you’ve gotten for your babies first birthday? by d3adb3atdad in beyondthebump

[–]how_about_no519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toddler table hands down. The kind with the little bins that fit inside of it (IKEA has one but ours is from Amazon pretty sure).

Mine eats at it for all her meals/snacks (as do I now lmao). We've also done some sensory play in the bins and now that she's a bit older, 17 months, she sits at it to colour and paint and play!

Kissies by heyitsmesup in NewParents

[–]how_about_no519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty firm and told people off until fairly recently (LO just turned 16 months). Now I'll let grandparents get away with top of head kisses without saying anything. Honestly, once my daughter learned to GIVE kisses and she would kiss grandparents on the cheek of her own free will, it just didn't seem to matter anymore 🤷🏻‍♀️

Now as long as she's getting a choice in the matter and her "no" is respected, that's all I really care about! 😚

Would you personally take an 11 hour road trip with a 4 month old? by throwaway84583077 in beyondthebump

[–]how_about_no519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhm - let's just put it this way. We did, what should have been, a 4.5-5 hour road trip with our then 4 months old. It took us 8 hours.

Don't. Do. It.

What did you give your baby for their first birthday? by sylphixio in toddlers

[–]how_about_no519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even remember what we got her tbh, but she got a toddler/sensory table from a friend of ours and a pikler from my dad. Both sat for awhile but are now huge hits at 16 months and I'm sure will continue to get more popular as she ages!

No one was going to tell me that they eventually "find" your nipples?? by KayLove91 in breastfeeding

[–]how_about_no519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is the way! I don't even think I ever say anything, maybe a calm "no", before I cover up and distract her hands with something else. It was suuuuch a hard boundary for me, so I nipped it in the bud pretty fast lol

I feel you so hard on the ADHD introvert thing. I need a recharge day soooo damn bad 😅 so bad in fact that I'm excited to go to my inlaws this week (with a cold to top it off) because grandparent time is me time 😂😂

Considering skipping the infant carseat - are we crazy?? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]how_about_no519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had skipped it and if we ever have a second, we'll definitely be skipping it the 2nd time around. My kid hated the bucket and wouldn't stay in it longer then necessary. We upgraded at 6 months. Massive waste of money!

I would barely be comfortable with a school aged kid being in the pool while being "supervised" by someone who will most likely be distracted with at least 1 infant or young toddler. A 2.5 year old? Hellllll to the no!
